Disney+ often updates its worldwide Top 10 quite frequently, and this morning, a popular title from a well-known mega franchise managed to take the No. 1 spot from The Simpsons: May the 12th Be with You.

This title is “War for the Planet of the Apes“, the third installment of the iconic ape saga reboot that has established itself as one of the highest-grossing in cinema and one of the few that continues to expand.

The movie was directed by Matt Reeves and was so successful that it was nominated for an Oscar in the category of Best Achievement in Visual Effects, although the production team did not win the award.

Now that the Planet of the Apes franchise has returned to trend, it was expected that one of the movies would become a trend on Disney+. This week, it was the turn of “War for the Planet of the Apes“.

Flix Patrol reported that the third installment of the saga has become the most-watched movie on the streaming platform, taking the top spot in the worldwide Top 10 from other titles like “Moana” with Dwayne Johnson.

The story is set after the apes suffer unimaginable losses, and follows Caesar, who wrestles with his darkest instincts and embarks on his own mythic quest to avenge his kind.

This sci-fi title is the third installment in the reboot film series of “Planet of the Apes”, which began with “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” in 2011 and continued with “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” in 2014.

The narrative explores deep themes such as survival, revenge, and redemption, as Caesar faces difficult decisions and fights to protect his species, making viewers witness the end.

As the plot unfolds, it develops in a dark and emotionally charged tone, showcasing the complex relationships between humans and apes, with the main character portrayed by Andy Serkis (The Batman).

In addition to the lead actor, the cast was filled with great talents, and among the most notable are Woody Harrelson as The Colonel, Steve Zahn as Bad Ape, Amiah Miller as Nova and Karin Konoval as Maurice.
