Based on the retro-futuristic video game franchise of the same name, “Fallout” is one of the most anticipated new series of the year. The <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/sci-fi">sci-fi</a>, produced by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the duo behind “Westworld,” arrived on <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/prime-video">Prime Video </a>on April 10, and it quickly garnered a solid viewership.



According to FlixPatrol, the show is currently the third most-watched series worldwide, only behind “Invincible” (in the first position) and “Reacher,” which is second. The series follows the aftermath of a nuclear apocalypse in an alternate version of Earth in which, following World War II, advancements in nuclear technology sparked a retro-futuristic society.



Survivors sought shelter in Vaults, underground bunkers designed to safeguard humanity from nuclear destruction. Fast forward 219 years, a young woman departs Vault 33, her safe haven, embarking on a perilous journey through the desolate wasteland of a ravaged Los Angeles in search of her missing father. <h2>Fallout: Where was the series shot?</h2>



The series was filmed in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, New Jersey, Utah and Namibia, according to Screen Rant. While not all the places are recognizable on the show, there are some of them that can be located.



For example, The Red Rocket truck, one of the iconic locations of the Fallout video game, was filmed in a real gas station in Nyack, New York. Meanwhile, the scenes on the Brotherhood Of Steel Base were filmed in the Wendover Air Force Base, Utah. The real place was used as a training camp for bombers during World War II.

Outside of the US, filming took place in Namibia. According to the same report, the crew shot in Kolmanskop, Sperrgebiet, which is a famous ghost town in the Southern African country. The location serves as Fallout’s wasteland.

And the first reactions suggest that the title will be leaning more towards comedy than originally expected.



Both Pattinson and Bong Joon-ho were at the conference, in which they raved about each other. “I’ve been the biggest fan of Bong for many years. He’s my hero,” the actor said about the Oscar-winning director. “I read the script and I thought it was one of the most funny, bizarre scripts I’ve read in my life,” he added.

The film is based on Edward Ashton’s book “Mickey7.” The novel revolves around an “expendable” employee assigned to a mission to colonize a new world. Despite being considered disposable, he rebels against the idea of being replaced by his clone.



Bong Joon-ho revealed at the CinemaCon 2024 that he renamed the movie “Mickey17” because he kills Pattinson’s character 10 more times than in the novel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first trailer opens with Robert Pattinson’s character losing a hand and then dying and being “reprinted” several times. The footage shows Mark Ruffalo’s character declaring that those multiple versions must be “exterminated.”

The South Korean <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/series">series</a> “Parasyte: The Grey” has become the new number 1 title on <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/netflix">Netflix</a> worldwide, according to FlixPatrol. Per the specialized website, the series has surpassed “3 Body Problem” and “The Gentlemen,” which are second and third on the most-watched list, respectively.



Also, the series achieved this feat with only two days on the platform, as it premiered on April 5. It is based on the manga Parasyte by Japanese author Hitoshi Iwaaki, while Yeon Sang-ho (Train to Busan, Hellbound, Jung_E) directs.

<h2>What is ‘Parasyte: The Grey’ about?</h2>



The series, set in Korea, is set in a world where humans have become infected by unknown parasites which have taken over their brains, controlling humans. However, one person, Su-in, has been able to cohabit with a parasite, being the only one who hasn’t transformed.



Meanwhile, the government has created an aggressive anti-parasite task force called Team Grey to annihilate every single one of them. Will Su-in survive? According to what director Yeun told Netflix, the series is about “coexistence.”



<h2>Who is in the cast of ‘Parasyte: The Grey’?</h2>



Jeon So-nee (Our Blooming Youth) plays Jeong Su-in/Heidi, while Lee Jung-hyun (Decision to Leave) portrays Choi Jun-kyung, leader of the Team Grey task force. Speaking to Netflix Tudum, So-nee said that her character didn’t care about “living,” but after her experience with the parasite “she thinks about how it’s good to have people around her, and how good it is to live and survive.”

The plot is set in a post-apocalyptic world where cities have evolved into huge mobile machines called “traction cities”. These cities move across a desolate landscape, pursuing and devouring smaller ones to obtain resources and labor.



The story follows a young woman named Hester Shaw, who seeks revenge against Thaddeus Valentine, the man who killed her mother. She joins forces with Tom and together, they uncover secrets that could change the world’s destiny.

Robert Sheehan is the one who brings Tom Natsworthy, a London outcast, to life. Meanwhile, Hera Hilmar portrays the main character, Hester Shaw, who is thirsty for revenge and leads a fight against a giant predatory city on wheels.



In addition to the stars, who make up the cast in important roles for the plot, there are Hugo Weaving, Jihae, Ronan Raftery, Stephen Lang, Menik Gooneratne and Regé-Jean Page as Captain Khora.

After premiering on March 21, the <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/sci-fi">sci-fi</a> <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/series">series</a> “3 Body Problem” has become one of the most watched shows on <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/netflix">Netflix</a>, both worldwide and in the US. Globally, according to FlixPatrol, it currently is the number one series, surpassing Theo James’ “The Gentlemen.”



Meanwhile, in the US, the show is now the second most watched, just behind the <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/documentary">documentary</a> series “Homicide: New York.” And it could be only a matter of time to also reach the top spot, we bet. Created by David Benioff, and D. B Weiss (known for also creating ‘Games of Thrones’), the series has a dedicated fan base.



Based on the widely celebrated novel of the same name by Lui Cixin, the series has eight episodes. Benioff and Weiss worked in the adaptation with Alexander Woo, whose previous credits include the fantasy <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/drama">drama</a> “True Blood.”



<h2>‘3 Body Problem,’ a sci-fi series that triumphs on Netflix</h2>



The novel that the series adapts is complex, and the series does its best to translate it to a wider audience in a digestible manner. It follows two timelines, one in the modern day, and one set during the 1960s Cultural Revolution in China.

In the present day, the scientific community is being shocked by an alarming wave of mysterious suicides. We follow Clarence Shi (Benedict Wong), a private intelligence officer, who has to team up with a group of researchers to save the planet from a great threat.



Meanwhile, in the past, Ye Wenjie (Zine Tseng), a promising young astrophysicist, sees her father being beaten to death in China, during the Cultural Revolution. However, one important decision she makes has ramifications to the present.



The rest of the cast includes Jess Hong, Jovan Adepo, Liam Cunningham, John Bradley, Eiza González, Rosalind Chao, Alex Sharp, Jonathan Price, among others. Meanwhile, critics have approved the series, which currently holds a score of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes.
