“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” is poised to be among the best blockbusters of the decade. Not only is it the return of one of the greatest sci-fi film franchises, but it also features the talented and beloved actress Anya Taylor-Joy.
In the production, she portrays Furiosa, the fierce and determined warrior who rebels against the tyrannical ruler Immortan Joe. This installment tells her origin story before her encounter and team-up with Mad Max.

Will there be a second ‘Furiosa’ movie? The director spoke
First of all, it’s worth noting that the “Mad Max” universe is far from over. In fact, not long ago, Tom Hardy confirmed that he signed a contract to participate in at least three more movies of the franchise, exclusively focusing on the lore of Max Rockatansky. However, George Miller hinted at even more hopeful possibilities.
While presenting “Furiosa” at Cannes, he was asked whether he would continue expanding his creation, both for Furiosa and the other characters. He stated, “There’s certainly more stories there.”
Nevertheless, when examining the lore of the franchise, the news is not so promising. Unless Miller finds a way to expand Furiosa’s story sideways, the film about her that was just released connects directly with 2015’s “Mad Max: Fury Road.“
As you may recall, back then Furiosa was portrayed by Charlize Theron in that title. If another continuation were to be made, the storyline of her character may continue, but certainly not with Anya Taylor-Joy, who played her younger version.
However, there is a factor that might lead the Argentinean-raised actress to return, and that is the fact that Theron and Hardy had a terrible feud and can’t even look at each other’s faces. Therefore, if Miller wanted to make another Furiosa film, Taylor-Joy would be an immediate recast.
