That position has fed into broader discussions within the French government, as Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez examines whether there is a legal basis to intervene. His office confirmed that options are being reviewed.

Despite the strong rhetoric, French law sets a high bar for preventing a performance. Authorities must establish that an event could pose a concrete threat to public order or potentially involve criminal conduct, a standard that has led to consultations with regional officials, including prefect Jacques Witkowski.

The developments come shortly after the United Kingdom denied entry to Kanye West ahead of his scheduled appearance at London’s Wireless Festival. That decision triggered a cascade of consequences, including sponsor withdrawals and the eventual cancellation of the event.

As discussions continue in France, the fate of the Marseille concert remains uncertain, with legal considerations now central to whether the performance can go ahead.

A Health Crisis in the Wake of ‘Rust’

The years following the “Rust” tragedy reshaped Baldwin’s daily life in ways that extended far beyond the courtroom. Reflecting on that period, he described it plainly: “That was unspeakably difficult to deal with.”

Work slowed to a near halt as he retreated from public life. “I wound up staying home a lot. I was home with my kids for three-and-a-half years — I hardly worked at all … I don’t want to leave my house anymore. I don’t. I don’t want to work anymore. I don’t. I really don’t. I want to retire and stay home with my kids,” he said.

At the same time, Baldwin was dealing with a medical condition that complicated even basic routines. “It impacted me in every way — financially, career-wise, my wife, my kids, my health. I was so sick,” he said, before explaining that he developed orthostatic hypotension, a condition that can trigger sudden drops in blood pressure and cause blackouts. “So I had to go [finish the film], and I was really sick.”

The symptoms became severe enough to sideline him completely. Recalling one episode, he said, “I blacked out three times during the St. Patrick’s Day weekend of that year, and fell on top of my wife once. It was crazy. It was horrible. So I get into bed. I’m in bed for eight days. I can’t get out of bed. I can’t walk. I had to go to physical therapy for two weeks.”

Despite that, obligations tied to the production remained in place. Baldwin ultimately returned to Montana to complete “Rust,” a requirement linked to a settlement with the family of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. “I had to get up on a horse and go back there to Montana to finish the film, or they were going to sue the s*** out of me,” he said, adding, “I don’t give the performance I want to give because I’m sick, but I did the best I could.”

The film is positioned as a direct continuation of the events established in “Insidious: The Red Door,” expanding the mythology of the Further while introducing a new ensemble of characters.

Titled “Insidious: Out of the Further,” the upcoming title marks the sixth entry in the supernatural horror series originally created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell. This time, directing duties fall to Jacob Chase, who also receives screenplay credit after developing the story alongside David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick.

The picture follows a new family whose lives are upended when a group of intruders forces them into the astral realm known as the Further. What begins as a home invasion escalates into something far more unsettling, as the boundary between the spirit world and reality begins to fracture.

A fresh cast leads the narrative, including Amelia Eve, Brandon Perea, and Maisie Richardson-Sellers, alongside Sam Spruell and Laura Gordon. Franchise mainstay Lin Shaye returns once again as Elise Rainier, maintaining a throughline that has anchored the series since its early chapters.

Production on the film took place in Australia, with principal photography running from late September to mid-November 2025. The project underwent a title change during post-production, having initially been titled “Insidious: The Bleeding World.”

“Insidious: Out of the Further” is scheduled to arrive in theaters on August 21, via Sony Pictures Releasing. The franchise, which began in 2010, has built a reputation for delivering high returns on modest budgets, collectively grossing over $700 million worldwide and continuing to evolve its central mythology with each new installment.
