Under Paris” is the new film that has obsessed Netflix users, particularly due to its talented cast and its Jaws-style plot. Not only has it become the No. 1 trend, but many are wondering about its future.

The original production from the streaming giant follows Sophia (played by Bérénice Bejo), a brilliant scientist, who learns that a large shark is swimming in the depths of the river.

Xavier Gens is the one who directed the horror drama, while Yaël Langmann and Olivier Torres collaborated on the adaptation. French actor Nassim Lyes joined the protagonist in the role of Adil.

Could ‘Under Paris’ have a sequel on Netflix?

For now, there has been no official confirmation from Netflix regarding a sequel to “Under Paris”. However, the movie has become a strong trend among users, so it could happen at some point.

Not only has it captivated the American audience, but it has also become one of the most-watched globally, especially due to its exciting plot and intense shark action, which serves as an homage to classics like “Jaws”.

The filmmakers behind the thriller have not made any statements, but this does not mean the story cannot continue to develop; it’s just too early to tell. First, they would need to see how well it performs in terms of numbers and views.

The film’s director, Xavier Gens, mentioned the possibility of a second part during an interview with Nice-Martin, saying only, “There could be other sharks in other major cities around the world“.

“A sequel or an ending with a capital ‘E’. For me, it is possible that there are other sharks in other major cities around the world. We’ll see if that’s the case or not!”, was his official statement, so nothing is 100% confirmed yet.
