Netflix: Hugh Jackman's sci-fi drama, Real Steel, reaches Top 6 worldwide

Hugh Jackman is not only known for bringing the legendary Wolverine to life in X-Men, but he also has an extensive filmography filled with successes. One of these has become the sixth most-watched movie on Netflix.

It is “Real Steel“, a family-friendly science fiction drama that mixes exciting moments with a story of familial relationships and personal triumph, carried out with solid performances.

If there’s one thing that the 2011 film directed by Shawn Levy doesn’t lack, it’s spectacular visual effects. As seen in the scenes, it has a clear influence from video game culture and combat sports.

Real Steel” is already a classic in cinema and in the career of the actor from Logan. This week, it has once again become one of the biggest trends on Netflix, where it managed to reach the Top 6 worldwide.

Flix Patrol reported that the drama, which is based on the short story titled “Steel” by Richard Matheson, not only made it into the ranking of the most-watched movies, but also dethroned the Italian comedy “Ricchi a tutti i costi”.

The story is set in the near future where human boxing has been replaced by robot fights and follows Charlie Kenton, a former boxer who now makes a living assembling combat robots from scrap metal.

The film explores themes of redemption, the father-son relationship between Charlie and Max, and perseverance. The action scenes are intense, with special effects that stand out in the robot fights.

After its debut on the big screen in 2011, it received mixed to positive reviews. Critics praised the action sequences and visual effects, as well as the performances of Hugh Jackman and Dakota Goyo.
