Although Disney tends to produce more family-friendly movies, it was announced that the new film would maintain its R rating (for ages 17 and up in the United States), allowing the franchise to stay true to the tone and style of the character.
The acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney, the owner of Marvel Studios, allowed X-Men characters, including Deadpool, to integrate into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in this installment, fulfilling what fans have been asking for for years.
The main cast will be led by Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who will once again portray Wolverine. The story will feature several interesting additions: Emma Corrin will play the villain, Rob Delaney as Peter, Leslie Uggams as Blind AI, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox and Morena Baccarin as Vanessa.

The story follows Wade Wilson, a former mercenary with a irreverent sense of humor who falls in love with Vanessa Carlysle. His life takes a positive turn until he’s diagnosed with terminal cancer. In a desperate attempt to cure himself, Wade undergoes a secret experiment led by Ajax and Angel Dust, granting him regenerative abilities but also disfiguring his appearance.
After the experiment, Wade takes on the name Deadpool and seeks revenge against Ajax, the man responsible for his transformation. Along the way, he encounters other mutants like Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Deadpool forms an impromptu team called X-Force to confront Ajax and thwart his evil plans.

In the sequel, Wade Wilson forms the “X-Force” to protect a young mutant named Russell Collins from Cable, a soldier from the future with the intention of killing the young man. At that point, he recruits several mutants, including Domino and Bedlam, to form the X-Force team. As the plot unfolds, it is revealed that Russell, also known as “Firefist,” is being mistreated in an orphanage and seeks revenge against those who have harmed him. Deadpool finds himself in the midst of a moral struggle on how to handle the situation, and his goal becomes even more complicated with the arrival of Cable.
