Civil War is the next masterpiece by Alex Garland, which was not only directed by him but also written. The post-war action and science fiction film has positioned itself as one of the most anticipated titles of the year and for streaming.

Kirsten Dunst is one of the major stars leading the plot, playing the role of Lee. Meanwhile, Nick Offerman, whom we know from The Last of Us, brings to life the President of the United States himself.

The fictional story is set in the near future and follows a team of journalists traveling across the country during a rapidly intensifying civil war that has taken over the entire nation.

When is Civil War coming to streaming?

Well, Civil War will arrive on streaming at some point, but the exact date is still unknown. Being an A24 film, it is expected to have its big debut on the Max catalog, given that the production company and the platform have an agreement.

The science fiction drama will premiere exclusively in theaters on April 12, and the plan is that after several weeks on the big screen. Before its premiere on the service, it will be available on VOD starting from May 24th of this year.

According to Economic Times, the director known for Annihilation promises a unique experience with the drama, inviting viewers to reflect. The main objective is to challenge the audience, and he stated: “Sometimes I feel too fed up with cinema, so I probably just react against that“.

The cast not only features Kirsten Dunst and Nick Offerman, but multiple industry icons accompany them as main characters. Among them are names like Jesse Plemons, Cailee Spaeny and Stephen McKinley.
