Greta Lee and Andrew Scott are not just strangers; they have worked together on several occasions, though never on the big screen. The last time they were seen together was on Variety’s Actors on Actors.
Now, the stars will join forces to bring to life the adaptation of “My Notes On Mars“, a romantic science fiction film that will mark the English-language debut of Hungarian filmmaker Lili Horvát.
Deadline reported that filming is expected to take place next spring in Budapest and Vienna, meaning the project is still in pre-production. So far, only the actors have been confirmed as part of the cast.
What is My Notes On Mars about?
Deadline reported that the story focuses on Margot, a young and brilliant scientist with a marriage in crisis, who inexplicably disappears while on a trip with her husband Sam and a group of friends.
A few weeks later, she miraculously reappears on the day of her own funeral, but it is clear that she is not the same as before the accident. However, her husband sees the miraculous return of his wife as a second chance.
Lili Horvát described her upcoming movie
The director herself, who will be making the grand movie based on a script she wrote, spoke with Deadline about “My Notes on Mars” and basically confessed that it is a super interesting love story. She said:
“It’s a story about the labyrinthine human psyche, about the ever-changing faces of love. To start over a marriage, to rediscover the other, to fall in love again — our story is about the grueling realization of this impossible desire“.
Matt Grobar, who wrote the article for the outlet, revealed that the filmmaker noted she is “particularly drawn to characters who dare to make surprising, unconventional choices in both their private and professional lives“.
“I feel that this is true for Greta and Andrew as well. It is an incredible honor for me that I can accompany them on the journey of creating Margot and Sam Fogel“, Lili Horvát concluded.
