Damian Hardung is one of the rising stars who has captivated audiences with his series Maxton Hall and is now ready to make his Hollywood leap alongside India Amarteifio, who shone in the Netflix show Queen Charlotte.
The actors have been cast to star in the new romantic film directed by Jonathan Wright (Awakening the Zodiac), titled “Into the Deep Blue“. Author Jennifer Archer (The Skulls) will be responsible for developing the screenplay.
The coming-of-age drama will be filmed in the UK, and before the Bridgerton spin-off actress joined the project, Sabrina Carpenter was set to take her place, but Deadline reported that she is no longer part of it.
Who are the cast of Into the Deep Blue?
Following the departure of the “Please Please Please” singer, India Amarteifio has been chosen to take on the role of Fiona. Meanwhile, Damian Hardung will bring Nick to life. So far, they are the only cast members confirmed.
Producer Aletha Shepherd was one of the first to speak about the inclusion of the young stars, and during a conversation with Deadline, she discussed the project and how excited they are. She said:
“We are thrilled to bring together such a fabulous cast for this remarkable script. It’s such a joy working with such talents, especially when we know we have something truly special on our hands. We are excited to find the right home and partner to make sure this film garners the success it deserves”.
What is Into the Deep Blue about?
The romantic drama’s story follows Nick and Fiona, two best friends who met in group therapy. Both struggle to rebuild their lives after she experienced the loss of her mother.
The official synopsis, according to Deadline, says: “The last thing they need is to fall in love. When a weekend trip brings their increasingly deep feelings to the surface, they might prefer to cut off contact rather than face them”.
When will Into the Deep Blue be released?
It is still too early to know when “Into the Deep Blue” might debut on the big screen, as the project is still in development and filming will not start until August 7, 2024. However, we could estimate that it will arrive sometime in 2025.
