The last time they were seen together was on Variety’s Actors on Actors.



Now, the stars will join forces to bring to life the adaptation of “My Notes On Mars“, a romantic <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/sci-fi">science fiction</a> film that will mark the English-language debut of Hungarian filmmaker Lili Horvát.



Deadline reported that filming is expected to take place next spring in Budapest and Vienna, meaning the project is still in pre-production. So far, only the actors have been confirmed as part of the cast.

The director himself noted that the feature is one of his most personal creations. 



According to Curzon, the filmmaker confessed in an interview that he tried to make the audience feel something with the title. It was very special for him because it was filmed in his childhood home, with very personal themes. Also, Haigh emphasized the “emotional reality” present in the intimate scenes between the characters, as it is an aspect that is often overlooked.

Just as the movie, in the series Ripley, grifter scraping by in early ’60s New York, is hired by a wealthy benefactor to convince his vagabond son Dickie Greenleaf to return home from Italy. But Tom quickly becomes enchanted by the glamor of Dickie’s lifestyle and does everything to ensure his place alongside him.



Zaillian told Vanity Fair in December that the series, which he also executive produces, will allow him to be “more faithful to the story, tone, and subtleties of Highsmith’s work,” adding that he tried to “approach my adaptation in a way I imagined she might herself.”

Meanwhile, Scott told the outlet that playing Ripley was “mentally and physically really hard,” as he always aims “to love and advocate for your characters […] You don’t play the opinions, the previous attitudes that people might have about Tom Ripley.”



He added: “You have to throw all those out, try not to listen to them, and go, ‘Okay, well, I have to have the courage to create our own version and my own understanding of the character.’”
