Andrew Scott and Dakota Fanning joined forces to bring to life “Ripley“, the new action drama miniseries that has been ranked as the tenth most-watched show on Netflix in the United States.

The production is an adaptation of the novel written by Patricia Highsmith in 1955, titled “The Talented Mr. Ripley”, and is a new version of the film starring Matt Damon, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Steven Zaillian, an Oscar winner, was in charge of writing and directing the episodes of the first season, which is one of the latest trends on the streaming giant, as it was added just a day ago.

The story follows a con artist named Ripley (played by Andrew Scott), who lives in New York City during the 1960s and is hired by a wealthy man to embark on a complex life of deception, fraud and murder.

The cast is composed of multiple well-known stars, and one of the most prominent, in addition to the actor from “All of Us Strangers“, is Dakota Fanning, who portrays the character of Marge Sherwood.

Steven Zaillian spoke in December with Vanity Fair about the miniseries, of which he also serves as an executive producer. Based on this, he assured that his role behind the scenes allows him to be more faithful to the plot.
