Bonko Khoza is not only known for portraying Boma in The Women King and Napoleon in the series Red Ink, but is now the star of Netflix‘s newest worldwide hit movie, the action thriller Heart of the Hunter.

Directed by Mandlakayise W. Dube, the story was scripted by Willem Grobler and the author of the novel it’s based on, Deon Meyer. Having premiered just a day ago, the title has already become a favorite in many countries.

The South African-produced production is receiving praise from both users and critics alike. Its gripping plot, full of complex characters, plenty of drama, and unrestrained chaos, is the main element of its success.

Heart of the Hunter is Netflix’s most-watched movie

Heart of the Hunter premiered just a day ago and has already been causing a stir among the most-watched titles on Netflix. Not only is it the most-viewed movie worldwide, but it is also one of the top trends of the weekend.

According to Flix Patrol, the production has achieved widespread success among its peers but has also displaced other titles that were holding strong within the Top 10, such as Irish Wish with Lindsay Lohan.

Accordint to Tudum, the action thriller takes place in locations across South Africa, including Waterkloof, Vlottenburg and the city of Maseru, which borders both South Africa and Lesotho.

The story follows a retired assassin who returns to action when his friend uncovers a dangerous conspiracy at the heart of the South African government. What seemed to be just a simple mission ended up being a high-level chaos.

Bonko Khoza brings the main character, Zuko Khumalo, to life, while Tim Theron portrays Tiger de Klerk and Connie Ferguson portrays Molebogeng Kwena. The cast is filled with stars, including Nicole Fortuin as well.
