Following the incredible success of Smile at the box office, it was expected that a sequel would arrive. This time, “Smile 2” stars former Disney girl Naomi Scott, who plays the pop star Skye Riley.

Directed and written by Parker Finn, the movie premieres on October 18 in theaters, just in time for the Halloween season. The official plot of the psychological thriller has yet to be shared.

The first teaser for the horror drama revealed that alongside the actress known for the live-action Aladdin and Lemonade Mouth, she will be joined by notable actors such as Kyle Gallner, Ray Nicholson and Lukas Gage.

Smile 2 rumored cast salary

The sequel to Smile has generated great anticipation following the remarkable success of the first movie, which grossed over $217 million on a budget of just $17 million. Now, the project has secured even more funding.

The second installment, which will be distributed by Paramount Pictures, has seen a significant increase in budget compared to its predecessor. Showbiz Galore reported that Smile 2 managed to secure a $25 million budget.

This makes sense, as they have heavily invested in the title due to the success of the first film on the big screen. The outlet, specialized in celebrity salaries, also shared how much the stars earned for their roles.

Apparently, Naomi Scott has become the highest-paid cast member, with a base salary of $700,000 for her lead role as Skye Riley, a pop star whose glamorous life is affected by the curse of the “Smile Entity”.
