“Practical Magic” is coming back with a legacy sequel, 26 years after the release of the original film. Warner Bros. announced that they’re working on the film, with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in talks to return, per Variety.
In the first movie, Bullock and Kidman starred as the Owens sisters, two witches that have to find a way to bring back to life Kidman’s abusive ex-boyfriend (Goran Višnjić) after Bullock unintentionally drugs and kills him.
The fantasy film was directed by Griffin Dunne, and it was an adaptation of the 1995 novel of the same name by Alice Hoffman. While the movie received mixed reviews and it failed to recover its budget at the box office, it has become a cult classic since then. So, check out who was in the original cast, then vs. now.

Sandra Bullock as Sally Owens

Academy Award winner Bullock played Sally, a witch who becomes widowed after the Owens curse kills her husband. Meanwhile, the young version of Sally was played by a 12-year-old Camilla Belle, who is now 37 years old. Bullock is also set to produce the sequel.
Nicole Kidman as Gillian Owens
Then: 31 years old – Now: 57 years old (June 20)

Meanwhile, Kidman played Gillian Owens, the most free-spirited of the two sisters, and loves magic. However, she becomes the victim of an abusive relationship. Her young version was played by Lora Anne Criswell, who was 13 years old at the time and who is now 38 years old. Kidman, an Academy Award and Emmy winner, is also set to produce the sequel.
Goran Visnjic as Jimmy

Visnjic played James “Jimmy” Angelov, Gillian’s abusive boyfriend. Originally from Bulgaria, he’s an abusive alcoholic who kidnaps the sisters. Visnjic is now well known for playing Dr. Luka Kovač in ER.
Stockard Channing as Frances
Then: 54 years old – Now: 80 years old

Channing played Frances Owens, aunt of Sally and Gillian. Channing, an Emmy and Tony winner, as well as an Academy Award nominee, is probably best known for playing Rizzo in Grease.
Dianne Wiest as Bridget
Then: 50 years old – Now: 76 years old

Two-time Academy Award winner Wiest played Bridget ‘Jet’ Owens, aunt of Sally and Gillian. She is best known for titles such as “Hannah and Her Sisters,” “Bullets Over Broadway,” “Footloose,” and more.
Aidan Quinn as Gary

Quinn played Investigator Gary Hallet, who questions Sally and Gillian in the disappearance of Jimmy Angelov. He later falls in love with Sally. Quinn is also known for the series “Elementary,” as well as the comedy “Desperately Seeking Susan.”

Evan Rachel Woods played Kylie Owens, Sally’s elder daughter, who lives with her mother and the aunts after the death of her father, Michael. She is now best known for her credits in TV, such as “Westworld” and “True Blood.”
Alexandra Artrip as Antonia

Artrip played Antonia Owens, Sally’s younger daughter. According to People, Artrip stepped away from Hollywood and as of 2017, she worked as a sales rep at a paper company based in Birmingham, Alabama.
