Long Bright River | 2025

Long Bright River” will hit the catalog of Peacock sometime in 2025 and is one of the upcoming television dramas starring the Mamma Mia actress, following successes like The Dropout and The Crowded Room.

Amanda Seyfried stars in the role of Mickey. The seven episodes of Season 1 tell the story of a Philadelphia police officer searching for her sister, a missing addict. The narrative is based on the novel of the same name by Liz Moore.

The acclaimed actress is not the only talent in the cast; she is joined by key actors such as Nicholas Pinnock, Patch Darragh, Hannah D. Scott, Vaughan Reilly, Callum Vinson and Perry Mattfeld, among others.

My Ex-Friend’s Wedding | TBA

The comedy focuses on four friends who receive a drunken voicemail from a friend on the day of her wedding, confessing doubts about her decision, as she believes she is making a mistake. They decide to intervene to stop the wedding.

Amanda is one of the actresses who will portray a member of this group alongside talented stars from the industry, such as Ariana DeBose, Chloe Fineman, Liza Koshy and Megan Stalter. So far, they make up the cast.

The film is directed by Kay Cannon, known for Pitch Perfect 3, and she is also responsible for the screenplay of this project, which will additionally involve Ashley Rodger and author Taylor Jenkins Reid.

The Housemaid | TBA

The Housemaid” is one of the latest projects that Seyfried has been involved in, and on October 8, it was confirmed that the actress will star in the suspense thriller alongside Sydney Sweeney, known for Euphoria.

Amanda will portray Nini, while the young star will play Millie. The plot is based on the popular novel by Freida McFadden, with the script written by Rebecca Sonnenshine and directed by Paul Feig.

The story follows a struggling woman who has spent a long time behind bars and is excited to start anew as a housemaid for a wealthy and elite couple, but not everything is as it seems.

Mamma Mia 3 | TBA

After several years since the release of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, it has been confirmed that the third installment of the franchise is in development, and it was Christine Baranski who informed that they are already writing the script.

Amanda was the second to hint at this, and during an interview, she even talked about who could potentially play Sophie’s daughter if the plot goes in that direction. The name that came up was Sabrina Carpenter.

Not much is known about the project yet, but Judy Kramer, the main producer of the films, is handling the matter. Baranski spoke with THR and said, “We’ll all be on some fabulous Greek or Croatian island having a blast, I hope“.
