This week, Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria and The White Lotus) will make her debut as the host of the show, which has been a launching pad for numerous successful comedians and actors since its premiere in 1975.
The Anyone but You actress has multiple new projects slated for release and it is expected that she will address her recent successes in her opening monologue. She will be joined by Kacey Musgraves as the musical guest.

Sydney Sweeney will make her SNL debut on Saturday, March 2, and it can be watched live on NBC, with its streaming debut the following day on the Peacock platform, according to the program’s official website.
The actress will headline the upcoming broadcast, which will feature Kacey Musgraves as the musical guest. The performer of Follow Your Arrow had her great debut during the 2018 edition.
Both the star of Anyone but You and the pop icon will share the screen on the Saturday Night Live show, which starts at 11:30/10:30c and is part of the 49th season of the comedy special created by Lorne Michaels.
There is still no information on how their performances will be, as the official X account has not shared any previews or sketches. However, it is estimated that the first glimpses will be available between Wednesday and Friday.

Being part of the SNL cast is just the cherry on top, as Sydney Sweeney is living the dream she has had since childhood. During an interview, the actress revealed that her childhood was heavily influenced by acting.
In December, she spoke with The Spokesman-Review and said, “As a kid, I lacked formal training, but I loved using my imagination. I would create imaginary worlds and friends when I was a child. My parents encouraged me to dream, and I did“.
The star, who attended St. George’s in Spokane, said that when she became attracted to the acting world at the age of 11, her parents Steve and Lisa didn’t take it too seriously.
“When I told them I wanted to be an actor, it was like saying I wanted to be a princess. They thought I just wanted to play dress-up and that I would eventually stop. I get it. Spokane is far removed from this crazy industry”, she confessed.
