Ayo Edebiri is undoubtedly the actress of the moment. In just one week, she won her first Golden Globe, Primetime Emmy and Critics Choice awards. With a unique and confident style, the star has become one of the favorites.

Her involvement in the series The Bear has not only catapulted her to the top but has also opened doors for her to act in many other projects. There, she brought to life the iconic chef Sydney Adamu for two seasons and 18 episodes.

But, the story is not over yet, and there is much left to be resolved… However, the young talent already has more projects on the horizon and they are not only for television; soon, she will be leading the plot of a horror movie: Opus.

What are Ayo Edebiri’s next projects?

The Bear Season 4

The award-winning drama and comedy will be back for a fourth season. Despite being one of the most stressful series, it quickly became a favorite among the audience and has finally been renewed for new episodes, which do not yet have an official release date.

Ayo and Jeremy Allen White will once again don their aprons to portray the chef duo Carmy and Sydney. FX has not confirmed how many episodes the 4th installment will have, but it is estimated to be between eight and ten, similar to the last three seasons.

Undoubtedly, the audience is ready to see the friends carry out more antics in the kitchen and with their team, which will again be played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Edwin Lee Gibson, Abby Elliott and Matty Matheson.

Opus

Ayo secured the lead role in the upcoming horror film directed and written by Mark Anthony Green. The actress will portray Ariel, accompanied by a stellar cast, which is also headlined by John Malkovich in the role of Moretti.

Not much is known about the story, but according to IMDb, the plot will follow an iconic pop star who returns after decades of disappearance. The film is set to be released by A24 and will mark the writer and director’s first cinematic project.

In addition to Edebiri and the actor from In the Line of Fire, those who have joined the narrative in supporting roles include Amber Midthunder, Murray Bartlett, Tatanka Means, Young Mazino, Melissa Chambers, Tamera Tomakili, Stephanie Suganami and Juliette Lewis, among others.

Ella McCay

Ella McCay” is the upcoming drama by Ayo, written and directed by James L. Brooks, which is currently in post-production. The actress won’t be the only big star participating, but quite the opposite.

Emma Mackey will bring the main character to life, but she will be joined by Rebecca Hall, Woody Harrelson, Albert Brooks, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kumail Nanjiani and other stars who will be playing important roles.

The story follows an idealistic young politician juggling her family issues and challenging work life as she prepares to take over from her mentor, the long-time incumbent governor of the state.

Pirates of the Caribbean spin-off

Despite being just rumors so far, it is believed that Ayo could star alongside Margot Robbie in the new spin-off of the iconic pirate franchise, originally led by Johnny Depp. According to Oli London, Disney is considering replacing the actor with Edebiri.

The actress would play a character named Anne, who would be the new version of Captain Jack Sparrow. Apparently, the production company is looking to fill the void left by the actor with a younger cast in the film, currently known as Pirates of the Caribbean 6.

There are rumors that Ayo’s character and Margot’s character could have a romantic connection, and Edibiri’s role is said to be based on the 17th-century pirate Anne Bonny. According to Daniel Richtman, so far, only Robbie is set to lead a separate spin-off.

After The Hunt

According to Variety, Ayo Edebiri has joined Luca Guadagnino‘s upcoming thriller “After The Hunt“, in which she will share the screen with Andrew Garfield and Julia Roberts.The screenplay is penned by Nora Garrett.

The plot centers on a university professor who faces a personal and professional crisis when her star student accuses another professor and a dark secret from her past threatens to surface.

Big Mouth

Ayo will return to voice Missy Foreman-Greenwald, one of the funniest characters in the series “Big Mouth“, which will premiere its eighth season on Netflix at some point in 2025.

Since the first installment of the adult animated show in 2017, the story follows a group of teenage friends whose lives are shaken by the wonders and horrors of puberty. Nick Kroll and Maya Rudolph are some of the actors also involved.
