The White Lotus, created by Mike White, is one of HBO’s most acclaimed drama series. The anthology follows the guests and employees at a White Lotus resort property in different locations. First season was set in Maui (Hawaii) and the second season was in Sicily, Italy. Here’s what we know about the third installment.
‘The White Lotus’ has been a sensation since its first season, which won Best Limited/Anthology Series at the 2022 Emmys, as well as other 13 awards. Meanwhile, the second season got nominations for Best Drama Series, as well as nine acting nods all in Best Supporting categories.
While it was first intended as a miniseries, the second season saw the return of some characters Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya and her husband Greg (Jon Gries). And Season 3 will also bring us a familiar face from Season 1.
‘The White Lotus’ Season 3: Where will the next season take place?
It has been confirmed that Season 3 will be set in Thailand. Per Variety, production will take place in Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok, Thailand, in February. Filming was disrupted by the writers and actors strike of 2023. The series could be out in 2025.
Show creator White had said that he would like to explore Asia, after they already did a season in Europe and the first season took place in Hawaii. For him, “maybe Asia, something crazy like that, that would be fun.”
The White Lotus Season 3 Cast
For Season 3, Natasha Rothwell will return as massage therapist Belinda, from Season 1. White and Rothwell had previously expressed their desire to work together once again. On the other hand, Variety and TVLine reported new members to the cast:

What would Season 3 of The White Lotus be about?
In an HBO Max featurette, White said: “I think the third season, it would be maybe a kind of satirical and funny look at death in Eastern religion and spirituality, it feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.”
While exact plot details haven’t been revealed, we can also expect the same ingredients of the first two seasons: dysfunctional families and relationships, social commentary and a mystery murder plot.
