After the release of Alien: Romulus on the big screen, where it became one of the biggest successes to date, the horror franchise continues to expand, but this time with a star-studded series, titled “Alien: Earth“.

The television production will be directed by Noah Hawley and will introduce a completely new story, different from what we’ve seen so far, which is no small feat, as sagas usually continue their legacy rather than innovate.

It is not directly related to the latest film by Fede Álvarezbut will be a standalone installment. Its story will take place on Earth and will again focus on multiple characters, led by the Wendy (played by Sydney Chandler).

What is Alien: Earth about?

Although it hasn’t been confirmed exactly what it will be about, other than that it’s based on the film franchise, the director has talked about its plot during an interview with Vanity Fair some time ago. He said:

It’s a story that also takes place on Earth. Alien stories always involve someone being trapped—in a prison, on a spaceship… I thought it would be interesting to expand the setting and consider what would happen if the xenomorphs had not been contained“.

When will Alien: Earth be released?

It has been confirmed that Alien: Earth already has a streaming home and an estimated release date. The series will arrive on screens sometime in 2025, with its episodes landing on FX and Hulu.

Filming took place in Thailand, and although the TV show was originally set to premiere in 2024, the Hollywood strike delayed it to the first half of next year, so there are still a few months to go before its premiere.

Who are the cast of Alien: Earth?

Sydney Chandler has been cast as the lead in the upcoming Alien series and will portray Wendy. Despite being the central figure in the story, she is not the only talented actor who will be testing their skills in horror.

The latest intriguing addition to the cast is Timothy Olyphant, who has previously worked with FX. The iconic actor will bring to life Kirsh, the mentor of the metahuman Wendy.
