<p><strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/hulu/we-were-the-lucky-ones-with-joey-king-and-logan-lerman-to-come-out-in-march-20240122-SPEN-2544.html">We Were the Lucky Ones</a></strong> is <strong>Hulu</strong>‘s new historical <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/drama">drama</a> that has brought together two of the industry’s most talented and well-known young stars, <strong>Joey King</strong> (The Act) and <strong>Logan Lerman</strong> (Hunters), for its first season.</p>



<p>The series is an adaptation of <strong>Georgia Hunter</strong>‘s eponymous book and was created by <strong>Erica Lipez</strong> (Bates Motel, Julia, and The Morning Show). The plot is inspired by the true story at the beginning of World War II.</p>



<p>Each of the episodes is inspired by a family of siblings with the surname Kurc, who seek to survive the Holocaust. The events of the novel are representations of the author’s family experiences.</p>



<h2>We Were the Lucky Ones: Episode Guide</h2>



<p>Each of the episodes is named after a place where a member of the Kurc family had to flee after the Nazi invasion that took place in Poland. <strong>Erica Lipez</strong> spoke with Elle magazine about the episodes and said:</p>



<p><em>“Our production designer and our team built a huge backlot in Bucharest that was a maze of buildings that became three different cities in Poland. The show goes to many places”</em>.</p>

<p>As with all the author’s successes, the novel will also be translated into Spanish and other languages. It will reach Spain during 2025, but the exact date has not yet been confirmed.</p>

<p>Each of the episodes shows an <strong>epic biblical redemption</strong>, exploring the life of Moses, his journey from outcast and murderer to prophet and liberator of the Hebrews from Egyptian oppression.</p>



<h2>Testament: The Story of Moses ranked #1 on Netflix</h2>



<p>As is often the case with new original releases on Netflix, <strong>Testament: The Story of Moses</strong> has become the <strong>most-watched <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/series">series</a> </strong>on the platform <strong>globally and in the United States </strong>within two days.</p>



<p>The <strong>three-part religious documentary</strong> arrived on the service not only to trend and tell an incredible biblical story but also to take the place of other productions within the Top 10.</p>

<p><strong>Shawn Levy</strong>, the director of the episodes, has spoken with Variety about how he will deal with the simple fact that the protagonists don’t look like they used to, as the filming of the series took an eternity to begin.</p>



<p>Well, he confessed that there is nothing to worry about, as the production team is very aware of these physical transformations, which they will conceal thanks to hairdressing, makeup, and wardrobe.</p>



<p><em>“We have already seen the cast of our series grow before the public, between the ages of 12 and 22, every human being changes profoundly. This passage of time is definitely not helping. That said, our hair, makeup, and wardrobe department are quite exceptional, as they use wigs, costumes and makeup. </em></p>



<p><em>And the 80s are also our friends when it comes to bringing these young adult actors back to their iconic characters from Hawkins. So we are going to use all the tools available to us. And I know that our cast is eager to get back to work like the rest of us</em>“, he said.</p>

<p>Apart from revealing that the shooting only took 25 days, he also explained the process for each actress, whom he said it was <strong><em>“daunting”</em></strong> to work with, as they are all legends. <em>“They had a clear idea of their character because they had been attached for so long,”</em> he explained.</p>

<p>In an interview with W magazine, Triet said that she wanted to make Sandra <em>“complicated, like Marlene Dietrich in the film Witness for the Prosecution. At first, Dietrich seems like a femme fatale, in total control of men. <strong>And then you see another side completely</strong>—there’s something much more complex underneath.”</em></p>



<p>On the other hand, speaking to Deadline, Hüller said that she thinks the film shows <em>“someone who<strong> just doesn’t apologize for being there with all she is</strong>; with her talent, with her way of loving, with her way of respecting others and leaving space for the feelings of others.”</em></p>

<p>Kuritzkes is a playwright and novelist who is married with another playwright and filmmaker, <strong>Celine Song. </strong>Song’s directorial debut, which she also penned, was “Past Lives,” which was nominated for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars.</p>



<p>People on social media have started noticing that both “Challengers” and “Past Lives” feature stories about <strong>“love triangles.”</strong> However, while “Past Lives” deals more with memory and identity, “Challengers,” according to Lucas Guadagnino is a <em><strong>“cinematic tour de force of jealousy, rivalry and love.” </strong></em></p>

<p><strong>‘Shirley,’ </strong>a <strong>biographical <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/drama">drama</a></strong> starring <strong>Regina King</strong>, has become the fourth most-watched <strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies">movie</a></strong> on <strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/netflix">Netflix</a></strong> in the US, according to FlixPatrol. The film was released on March 21, and it has quickly climbed in the charts.</p>



<p>Directed by <strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/oscars">Oscar</a></strong>-winning screenwriter<strong> John Ridley</strong>, it tells the story of Shirley Chisholm ,who, in 1968, became <strong>the first Black woman elected to Congress. </strong>The film centers mostly on her trailblazing run for the 1972 Democratic presidential nomination.</p>

<p>Apart from King, who also produces, the movie stars <strong>Terrence Howard</strong>, André Holland, Christina Jackson,<strong> Lucas Hedges</strong>, and the late <strong>Lance Reddick.</strong> King’s younger sister, Reina, also appears and produces.</p>



<h2>‘Shirley’ is a personal story for Regina King in many ways</h2>



<p>King told Elle in an interview that she and her sister, who co-produced under their banner Royal Ties, wanted to make a film about Chisholm because<strong> not many people were aware of her story.</strong></p>



<p>King told the outlet that <em>“We all know women who roll up their sleeves and are able to go toe-to-toe with men—Black women,” </em>but<em> “<strong>we don’t get to see them out in the storytelling space</strong>.”</em></p>

<p>However, finishing the film was a challenge after production was halted due to her son Ian’s death by suicide in January 2022 at age 26. <em>“I know Ian would have felt like if I didn’t finish something because of a choice that he needed to make, then I wasn’t honoring him,” </em>King told Elle. <em>“We all landed at the finish line on Ian’s wings. He guided us there.”</em></p>



<h2>What critics are saying about ‘Shirley’?</h2>



<p>While the approach to Chisholm has divided critics, Regina King’s performance, on the other hand, has been <strong>universally praised.</strong> For example, Richard Roeper from the Chicago Sun-Times said that her performance was <strong><em>“filled with power, humor, warmth and grace.”</em></strong></p>

<p>While more optimistic than Euphoria, fans of the show will find that Mia (played by <strong>Sophie Wilde</strong>) is a main character that has the same attitude as the Euphoria teens:<strong> let’s do it all. </strong>After being hospitalized to treat an eating disorder, Mia will go through everything she feels she missed.</p>

<p>In “Euphoria,” there are some characters that “don’t belong,” such as<strong> Rue</strong> (at first) or <strong>Maude Apatow’s Lexi</strong>. In Heartbreak High, Amerie (Ayesha Madon) is a social outcast after creating a mural that exposes the hookups of everyone at her school. However, she will find new friends Darren (James Majoos) and Quinni (Chloe Hayden), with whom she will navigate school.</p>

<p>The original series might feel tame compared to what Euphoria depicts, but there’s no Euphoria without <strong>Gossip Girl </strong>(such as there’s no Gossip Girl if there’s no <strong>The OC,</strong> but that’s another conversation). GG follows a more <strong>privileged pack of teen troublemakers</strong>, but still, all the themes are there: loneliness, love, friendships and more.</p>

<p>Now, if there’s a millennial show that feels the most closest to Euphoria is definitely this one. <strong>Skins</strong>, the UK version, was the boldest teen series of its time, and depicted all the issues that Euphoria has: mental illness, substance abuse, eating disorders, relationships and more. Plus, it also has a star-studded cast: <strong>Kaya Scodelario, Nicholas Hoult, Dev Patel </strong>and more.</p>



<h3>Sex Education</h3>

<p>Again, the truth is that it is hard to find a broody, nihilistic approach to adolescence the same way “Euphoria” does. So, in comparison, “Sex Education” might feel extremely <strong>optimistic and colorful.</strong> However, we argue that that’s a good thing. Apart from its educational approach, the series is similar to Euphoria due to its extensive, diverse cast. There’s a character for everyone.</p>



<h3>My Mad Fat Diary</h3>

<p>One of the most criticized storylines of Euphoria is <strong>Kat’s character arc</strong>, which will remain incomplete after <strong>Barbie Ferrera </strong>decided to leave the show. However, if you want to watch a character with similar struggles, <strong>“My Mad Fat Diary”</strong> is perfect for that. It follows <strong>Rae (Sharon Rooney),</strong> who is returning to everyday life after a four-month stay in a psychiatric hospital. However, she lies to her best friend about where she was and, from then, let’s just say that the series is a journey.</p>



<h3>My So-Called Life</h3>

<h3>Small Things like These (2024)</h3>



<p>Murphy not only starred in this historical drama, as he also served as producer. Directed by <strong>Tim Mielants</strong> and written by <strong>Enda Walsh,</strong> the film is based on the 2021 novel of the same name by <strong>Claire Keegan.</strong></p>



<p>The film is set in Christmas 1985 and it follows coal merchant <strong>Bill Furlong,</strong> played by Murphy, who makes a discovery at a local convent that makes him confront secrets in the Irish town of New Ross. It premiered during <strong>Berlinale </strong>to positive reviews, but still doesn’t have a release date for the US.</p>



<h3>Peaky Blinders Movie (TBD)</h3>



<p>Steven Knight, the series’ creator, confirmed that a <strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies/peaky-blinders-movie-all-about-cillian-muprhys-return-as-thomas-shelby">Peaky Blinders film</a></strong> was set to start shooting in September in the West Midlands. He also confirmed that Murphy was going to reprise the role of Thomas Shelby.</p>

<p>While plot details are scarce, it’s expected that the film will be a continuation of the sixth season of the series, as a<strong> seventh installment </strong>couldn’t be made due to the pandemic. There’s no release date yet.</p>



<h3>Blood Runs Coal (TBD)</h3>



<p>Deadline announced that Murphy will also star and produce in <strong>“Blood Runs Coal,”</strong> an adaptation of the non-fiction book by Mar A. Bradley, which details the murders of Joseph “Jock” Yablonski, a trade union insider, and his family by a corrupt union leader.</p>



<p>The script will be written by <strong>Jez Butterworth</strong> (Spectre and Ford V Ferrari) and <strong>John-Henry Butterworth</strong> (Get On Up &amp; Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny). Murphy will play Chip Yablonski, the lawyer son of Jock Yablonski who will seek justice for his father.</p>



<h3>28 Years Later (June 20,2025)</h3>



<p><em>28 Days Later</em> had a significant impact on Cillian Murphy’s career, and this year the long-awaited arrival of a new installment in the franchise was announced, which will also star the actor alongside major stars.</p>



<p><strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/aaron-taylor-johnson">Aaron Taylor-Johnson</a></strong>, <strong>Ralph Fiennes</strong> and <strong>Jodie Comer</strong> are some of the figures who have been confirmed, and they will be portraying three main characters, who will accompany the one played by the Oppenheimer actor.</p>



<p>“<strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies/28-years-later-with-aaron-taylor-johnson-and-ralph-fiennes-all-that-is-known">28 Years Later</a></strong>” will hit the big screen on <strong>June 20, 2025</strong>, so there is still over a year before we can discover the long-awaited sequel and what has happened to Murphy’s character, Jim.</p>



<p><strong>Danny Boyle</strong> (Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting) is set to direct, based on a script he developed with <strong>Alex Garland</strong> (Civil War). Not much is known about the story yet, only that it will be set 28 years after the original events.</p>
