Rebel Moon is one of Netflix‘s great original additions, and just a day ago, the second installment of the franchise premiered, bringing the saga back into worldwide trends in the catalog.

This morning, it was confirmed that the first film, A Child of Fire, has become the fourth most-watched currently, displacing other productions like Beast with Idris Elba and I’ll See You in My Dreams from the Top 10.

Zack Snyder (300 and Justice League with Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck) was responsible for bringing the science fiction drama to life, based on a script developed by Kurt Johnstad, Shay Hatten and the filmmaker himself.

Despite Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire being added to Netflix’s catalog in 2023, it has returned to trend thanks to the arrival of the sequel and has become the eight most-watched movie worldwide.

The story follows a young woman (played by Sofia Boutella) who seeks warriors from other planets to fight against the tyrannical armies terrorizing her peaceful colony, all while they strive to survive.

In addition to the lead actress, many prominent talents in the industry have significant roles within the cast. Among the most notable are Djimon Hounsou, Michiel Huisman, Ed Skrein, Charlie Hunnam and Anthony Hopkins.

Zack Snyder and screenwriter Kurt Johnstad spoke some time ago about the future of the saga and revealed they have material for up to six more installments, indicating that the drama is far from its conclusion.
