“I Am: Céline Dion” is the new documentary-style drama that chronicles the life and journey of the iconic singer, especially in recent years after being diagnosed with Stiff-Person Syndrome.
As expected, the Prime Video film invites the world to reflect and get to know a little more about the person behind the legend. It was directed by Irene Taylor and features only one cast member, Celine herself.
From beginning to end, the documentary portrays how the star has always been honest with her fans and, despite not being able to take the stage right now, she can’t wait to reconnect with each one of them again.
I Am: Céline Dion is the new Top 1 movie on Prime Video
“I Am: Céline Dion” has been one of the most anticipated biographical and informative films among Prime Video users and worldwide, so it’s no surprise that it has become the most-watched movie globally.
Flix Patrol, the site specializing in metrics and platforms, confirmed that the documentary quickly climbed to the Top 1, as it premiered on Amazon’s service just a day ago.
Celine Dion was not the only star present in the production; her sports medicine therapist, Terrill Lobo, was also featured. He was present in one of the most heart-wrenching scenes when he suffered a seizure for several minutes.
“It was very unsettling. Very disturbing. I know it’s tough for some viewers, it was tough for me too. But I’ll tell you that Céline felt validated seeing herself like that, and she thought it would help if other people could understand what [SPS] is“, he explained.
The title is not only an ideal choice to learn more about the disease and its symptoms but also to discover the resilient side of the star who has transformed the industry with her voice and iconic songs.
