If you’re longing to see Federer back on the court, he has something special in store for you. His documentary “Federer: Twelve Final Days” has quickly risen to the first spots on the Prime Video worldwide ranking less than 24 hours after its release, according to FlixPatrol.

Directed by Asif Kapadia and Joe Sabia, known for their work on non-fiction titles like “Diego Maradona” and Vogue’s “73 Questions,” the production has garnered praise from both critics and audiences.

It not only showcases Federer’s vulnerable moments in the days leading up to his retirement but also provides a complete overview of his entire career.

‘Federer: Twelve Final Days’ occupies the Top 3 on Prime Video worldwide

Although Federer retired from tennis two years ago, our longing for him feels as fresh as the day of his last match. Thus, it’s no surprise to see “Federer: Twelve Final Days” ranking as the third most-watched title on Prime Video worldwide.

The documentary has quickly surpassed “Culpa Mia” and “Upgraded,” two of this year’s top titles in the catalog. Currently, it’s in a neck-and-neck competition against “Die Hart 2: Die Harter” to climb higher in the rankings.

It covers the period from September 14, 2022, when Federer filmed his retirement announcement video, to September 23, when he played his last tournament and final match, when he partnered with his greatest rival, Rafael Nadal, against Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock.

Furthermore, the production features interviews and archival footage from everyone in Federer’s inner circle, including Mirka Federer and his whole family. Notable figures like Pelé, David Beckham, and Michael Jordan also make appearances.

An interesting note is that the title was initially intended solely for Federer’s personal archive. As he shared with Hello!, “I was convinced early on that I should have some footage of the inner circle just for my life, just for the kids [to see] when they grow up, that they remember […] how it was, especially that very particular moment of my life.”
