<p><strong>Anthracite</strong> is one of Netflix’s new original limited <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/series">series</a> that has become a strong trend, having premiered worldwide just two days ago. Flix Patrol reported this morning that it has become the <strong>third most-watched</strong>.</p>



<p>The recent TV show arrived on the streaming platform’s catalog recently and has not only been thriving in the Top 10 but has also established itself as a strong trend in multiple countries, such as the United Kingdom and Argentina.</p>

<p>“<strong>The Hijacking of Flight 601</strong>” has joined the list of new foreign productions on <strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/netflix">Netflix</a></strong> and the ranking of the most-watched series worldwide in just two days, as it is the recent and exciting Colombian addition.</p>



<p>Created by <strong>Pablo Gonzalez</strong> and <strong>C.S. Prince</strong>, the <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/drama">drama</a> is packed with suspense, unexpected twists, unpredictable settings and a quite complex story, which is carried out by outgoing and quirky characters.</p>



<p>The first season of the <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/tv">TV</a> show consists of a total of six episodes, all of which have been added to the platform’s catalog together. <strong>Monica Lopera</strong> is one of the many protagonists, alongside <strong>Johan Rivera</strong> and <strong>Arif S. Kinchen</strong>.</p>

<p>Netflix has refreshed its Top 10 again, and two days ago, the new Colombian <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/series">series</a> “<strong>The Hijacking of Flight 601</strong>” managed to <strong>reach the number 5 spot</strong> among the most-watched on the platform currently, according to Flix Patrol.</p>



<p>The specialized site reported that the production has quickly gained ground and had a significant number of new views, which pushed it past other titles like “The Gentlemen” with <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/netflix/netflix-kaya-scodelario-and-theo-james-the-gentlemen-is-the-no-2-series-in-the-us">Theo James</a> and “Heartbreak High”.</p>

<p>The story follows two armed and hooded individuals who hijack and threaten to blow up Flight 601 unless the Colombian government releases 50 political prisoners and pays them a substantial ransom in cash.</p>



<p>According to Tudum, the episodes are inspired by one of the longest air hijackings in Latin American history, which took place in May 1973. The plot is based on the events surrounding <strong>SAM Colombia Flight HK-1274</strong>.</p>



<p>The real-life events were carried out by Paraguayan footballers who seized the plane and its 84 passengers to demand a ransom of $200,000. Not only was it one of the longest flights but also one of the longest in distance, as it was diverted multiple times.</p>

<p>In the novel, the character of Margaret is replaced by Mrs. Fridge when Nica is 12 years old. Whereas in the movie, she remains as the orphanage director and mistreats the orphans under her care.</p>



<h4>Nica’s fight with Lionel</h4>



<p>The fight between Nica and Lionel happens quite differently in the book compared to the movie. In the adaptation, he is sober but Nica is drunk, and it’s Rigel who tries to defend her, leading to a large-scale fight scene.</p>



<h4>Asia, Alan’s girlfriend</h4>



<p>In the book, Asia’s story is detailed more, including her life and her relationship with Alan, the deceased son of Anna and Norman. However, in the movie, she only appears twice and it’s to highlight her disagreement with Nica and Rigel’s adoption.</p>



<h4>Story between Nica and Rigel</h4>



<p>One of the biggest differences is the speed at which the story between the main characters develops, especially from their first day in their new home. In the book, it happens a bit more slowly and progressively, marking more tension between them.</p>



<h4>The big finale</h4>



<p>Finally, the story concludes with Nica testifying against the director and rushing to the hospital to see Rigel. But this doesn’t happen exactly as in the novel, where she stays by his side throughout the months it takes for him to regain consciousness and come out of the coma.</p>

<p>Filmed in the H Unit of the Pulaski County jail in Arkansas; the series follows a six-week experiment conducted by <strong>Sheriff Eric Higgins</strong>, in which all the cells will be unlocked 24/7, and corrections officers will only be stationed right outside the unit.</p>

<p>For Unlocked, Higgins says that he wanted to create an environment with less direct supervision, based on the model of their <strong>re-entry unit, </strong>which is for detainees who want help with their addiction or other problems.</p>

<p>Rather than simply opening doors, Higgins stresses the importance of dialogue and preparation before filming. <em>“We talked to them about the possibilities, and about behavior. <strong>We gave them a list of responsibilities and [made] personnel available to them to ask more detailed questions,</strong>”</em> he explained to Tudum.</p>

<p>In November 2010, Jennifer Pan made a 911 call reporting a home invasion in Ontario, Canada, where she claimed gunmen broke in, tied her up, and shot her parents. <strong>Her mother died instantly, but her father survived.</strong> As investigators dug deeper, suspicions arose about Jennifer’s account, especially when security footage showed three men entering the house without signs of forced entry.</p>



<h2>Why did Jennifer want to kill her parents?</h2>



<p>Pan lived with her parents, who wanted her to be a pharmacist and a pianist. However, she wanted different things. Especially, being with her boyfriend <strong>Daniel Wong, a drug dealer with a criminal record. </strong>However, she lied to her parents about her activities, even pretending to have graduated from high school and attending college while photoshopping report cards.</p>

<p>When their parents found out about her lies, they disapproved of her relationship and forbade her from seeing Wong anymore. That’s when Jennifer and Wong started to make a plan to kill her parents, hiring three hitmen (David Mylvaganam, Lenford Crawford, and Eric Carty), who entered the home and carried out the invasion.</p>

<p>Authorities suspected that Jennifer’s story was misleading from the beginning. However, they were able to prove their hypothesis when her father came out of his coma and revealed that <strong>he saw her daughter talking to the criminals. </strong>Finally, Jennifer confessed to hiring the killers and leaving her house unlocked.</p>



<h2>What was Jennifer’s sentence?</h2>



<p>In January 2015, Jennifer Pan was given a life sentence with no chance of parole for<strong> 25 years for first-degree murder, </strong>along with a life sentence for attempted murder, as reported by CBC. Wong, Mylvaganam, and Crawford also received life sentences with parole eligibility after 25 years. Following a mistrial initially, Carty was sentenced to 18 years in prison in December 2015, passing away in jail in 2018.</p>

It centers around how police worked to track down the killer, at first known as the <strong>Darkroom Killer,</strong> despite the fact that only one of the crimes took place in a dark room of a gay club. </p>



<p>The three-part <strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/documentary">documentary</a></strong> explains the method used by the murderer, who targeted <strong>young men. </strong>However, it’s mostly told from the police point of view, shredding light at how they failed to link the murders at first.</p>



<h2>Who was the real Nightlife Killer?</h2>



<p>As the docuseries explains, all the victims were men, which were drugged, robbed and murdered. While at first the police thought the cases were isolated and didn’t have a correlation. However, a man, named <strong>Miroslaw Wawak</strong>, survived an attack, but his wallet was stolen.</p>



<p>After the murderer used Wawak’s credit card to buy a train ticket, police were able to identify him as a<strong> 39-year-old with the alias Dirk P. </strong>He was a trainee teacher at an elementary school in Brandenburg with no criminal record.</p>

<p>Apart from the interview, the movie showcases the great amount of work that went behind the scenes, especially when it came to securing the interview, which in real life took <strong>McAlister 13 months of negotiations</strong> with Amanda Thirsk, Prince Andrew’s publicist.</p>



<p>While, as always, there are dramatized differences between real life and the movie, some things are pretty accurate. For example, the recreation of the interview<em>. “The level of detail, putting together exactly the same room, the camera angles, the lighting, the specifics of the table, the cables, the types of cameras, the carpet — <strong>everything is so ridiculously close</strong>,”</em> McAlister told Netflix.</p>

Per the specialized website, the series has surpassed <strong>“3 Body Problem” </strong>and <strong>“The Gentlemen,”</strong> which are second and third on the most-watched list, respectively.</p>



<p>Also, the series achieved this feat with only two days on the platform, as it premiered on April 5. It is based on the manga Parasyte by Japanese author Hitoshi Iwaaki, while <strong>Yeon Sang-ho</strong> (Train to Busan, Hellbound, Jung_E) directs.</p>
