Netflix has produced a wide range of documentaries that have resonated with the global audience and have been featured in the platform’s Top 10. One of the most recent and acclaimed ones is “Secrets of the Neanderthals“.

It seems that the service continues to invest in quality documentary content and remains a popular destination for lovers of these types of productions, which often earn a spot in the rankings.

This time, it’s the informative film directed by Ashley Gething and narrated by Patrick Stewart that has become the seventh most-watched, just one day after being added to the catalog.

Secrets of the Neanderthals ranked No. 6 on Netflix

Secrets of the Neanderthals” was added to Netflix’s catalog on May 2nd and since then, it hasn’t stopped gaining views, becoming one of the most-watched movies of the week.

According to Flix Patrol, the specialized site in metrics and platforms, the documentary currently holds the number six spot within the global Top 10, where it displaced the horror thriller “Barbarian”.

The informative film, produced by BBC Studios Science Unit, explores the mysteries surrounding the Neanderthals through fossil remains, revealing details about their way of life and eventual extinction.

As the scenes unfold, new discoveries and scientific advancements are presented, allowing for a greater understanding of the Neanderthals, who survived for over 300,000 years.

The title aims to take the viewer to various archaeological sites around the world to discover why the Neanderthals were so successful for such a long time and what led to their disappearance or extinction.

The project features a hybrid production, with both scenes recreated by actors like Gabriel Andreu and Caroline Colomei, as well as some parts narrated by Patrick Stewart (X-Men and Star Trek) and interviews with field professionals.
