One of the trending movies on Netflix worldwide is “Daddy Daughter Trip,” which according to FlixPatrol, is currently the seventh most watched film on the platform. However, if you want to watch it in the US, you can do so on Tubi (free with ads), as it is not available on Netflix in the country.
The movie is one of Rob Schneider’s latest projects. The comedian is known for titles such as “The Hot Chick,” “Grown Ups,” “Big Stan,” “50 First Dates” and more. Apart from starring, he also directs this comedy, which was written by Jamie Lissow and Patricia Maya Schneider.
The cast consists of veteran actress Mónica Huarte, Spanish star Miguel Ángel Muñoz, Jackie Sandler, John Cleese, and introducing Miranda Schneider and Gavin Guerrero in their film debuts. Here’s what you need to know about this comedy.
‘Daddy Daughter Trip’: A comedy resurging on Netflix
The film, which originally was released in 2022, follows a penniless, would-be inventor who takes his eager young daughter on a road trip to make her spring break special. As often happens with road trip movies, they will soon encounter obstacles on their journey.
“Daddy Daughter Trip” has clearly climbed the charts on Netflix. According to FlixPatrol, the film is the seventh most watched on the platform, surpassing titles such as “Smile,” “Sonic The Hedgehog” and “Mercy” in the Top 10.
It’s true that it didn’t have a wide release in theaters, being distributed by Mill Creek Entertainment. It first was released in Mexico, and in the US it was directly released on home media. So, it didn’t have enough reviews to give a general idea of the film.
However, one of the few critics that reviewed the film was Bill Goodykoontz of The Arizona Republic. He gave it a bad review, saying that the plot, the physical comedy and the jokes didn’t work, despite the clear fact of the chemistry between father and daughter.
