Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning’ has become one of the trending titles on Netflix worldwide, after its arrival on the platform across international markets on June 11. According to FlixPatrol, the movie, starring Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, is the fifth most-watched movie globally.

The film, which is the seventh installment of the spy franchise, had already reached the number one back in January on Paramount+ in the US, where it is available to stream. But you can also watch the film for free on Fubo, if you sign up for their seven-day free trial.

‘Dead Reckoning’ was a critical success, with experts praising its cinematography, script, performances and stunts. However, the movie failed to recover its staggering production budget of $219 million (after an insurance payout due to the COVID-19 delays).

Mission: Impossible 7 features Tom Cruise’s craziest stunts

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, ‘Dead Reckoning’ follows IMF Agent Ethan Hunt and his team as they try to stop a huge threat from a dangerous new weapon, a high-tech Artificial Intelligence (AI) system called the “Entity.”

While the movie offers a compelling case against AI, it also features some of the most extraordinary stunts, including Cruise’s highly publicized motorcycle dive and parachute jump off a Norwegian clifftop.

Among the familiar faces that return to the franchise are Simon Pegg as Benji, Ving Rhames as Luther, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust and Vanessa Kirby as The White Widow. Meanwhile, Hayley Atwell joins the cast as Grace, Hunt’s new ally. The rest of the cast includes Henry Czerny, Pom Klementieff, Cary Elwes, Greg Tarzan Davis, Shea Whigham, and Mariela Garriga.

On the other hand, a new ‘Mission: Impossible’ is currently in production and, according to reports, it would be the most expensive installment of the franchise, surpassing a $300 million budget. And, it’s certainly a risky bet, after ‘Dead Reckoning’ collected $567.5 million, which, while a respectable sum, wasn’t enough to recover the investment.
