Hellboy is not only one of the most well-known franchises among science fiction and dark humor enthusiasts but now also among Netflix users worldwide. Check out everything about the seventh most-watched movie.

Netflix users have not only brought some classics back into trend, but one of them, in particular, has become the seventh most-watched movie worldwide: Hellboy, starring David Harbour.

The science fiction and superhero title offers a dose of action, humor and dark fantasy, suitable for fans of the genre and followers of the comic book character, who are quite numerous to this day.

Milla Jovovich co-stars in the emo drama alongside a stellar cast. The film was directed by Neil Marshall, based on a screenplay adapted by Andrew Cosby, from the comic book by Mike Mignola.

Hellboy ranked No. 7 on Netflix worldwide

Hellboy premiered six years ago, and since then, it has been captivating viewers, especially those who are fans of the original saga. Now, it has also done so with Netflix users in multiple countries.

The dark drama has become the seventh most-watched movie on the platform worldwide, surpassing other big titles like “Murder Mubarak” and “Black Adam”, according to the specialized site Flix Patrol.

The story follows Hellboy, a half-human, half-infernal demon who works for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. He is sent to England to stop Nimue, an ancient and evil witch who plans to destroy the world.

The film received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences. Some praised the performances of the cast, especially David Harbour as Hellboy, as well as the visual effects and thrilling action.

The 2019 production is a reboot of the film franchise, rather than a continuation of the movies directed by Guillermo del Toro and starring Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy and Season of the Witch)

The Stranger Things actor wasn’t the only one who shone in the delivery, but Milla Jovovich also did as Nimue, Ian McShane as Professor Trevor Bruttenholm, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan and Daniel Dae Kim as Ben Daimio.
