“Don’t Move” is a horror thriller produced by Sam Raimi that has just premiered on Netflix, offering an original and distinctive storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat with its unexpected twists.
Although the movie has just been released, it has already started to receive positive reviews for its tense atmosphere. Critics have highlighted the quality of the direction and the screenplay, created by T.J. Cimfel and David White.
Kelsey Asbille brings the character Iris to life, while Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story) portrays Richard. Both lead the electrifying story, albeit in quite different roles: that of the victim and the psychopathic killer.
Could Don’t Move get a sequel on Netflix?
So far, there has been no official announcement regarding a sequel to Don’t Move. The horror movie has generated some interest, but the filmmakers and Netflix have yet to confirm plans for a sequel.
Directors Brian Netto and Adam Schindler have been focused on creating a compelling narrative, and while they haven’t ruled out the possibility of expanding the story, they are currently concentrating on the film’s reception.
The possibility of a sequel will likely depend on the titles’s performance and viewer interest in the coming months. However, it has the potential to secure a sequel and even rank among the best releases of the year in the genre.
The story follows a serial killer who injects a woman with a paralytic substance while they are both isolated deep in the woods. She must move and fight before her nervous system shuts down completely.
Sam Raimi spoke about the drama‘s ending with Netflix Tudum, but not about whether there will be a sequel or not; instead, he discussed his feelings about making it and the incredible performance of the lead actress. He said:
“Kelsey put her heart into the film and really made that journey of someone who was hopeless, [to] someone who had hope again. I know that because I feel very moved by the end of this film. She’s got a soul and she knows how to give the audience a peek at it“.
