<p>They just don’t make witch movies like <strong>“Practical Magic”</strong> anymore. Warner Bros. producers seem to understand this better than anyone, as they have announced <strong>a sequel is officially in the works</strong>, 26 years after the first film.</p>



<p>The original plot revolves around sisters <strong>Sally</strong> and <strong>Gillian</strong>, two witches who come from a lineage of women plagued by the tragic deaths of the men they loved throughout history, all due <strong>to a curse cast by one of their ancestors</strong>. The girls reside with their witch aunts, but Sally, more rebellious than Gilliam, is determined <strong>to break away from them</strong> to be with the love of her life.</p>



<p>Despite being a commercial failure, earning less than its <strong>$75 million budget</strong>, it’s evident that the same fate won’t happen to the second installment, given the original movie’s <strong>cult following</strong>. Of course, this depends on whether <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/sandra-bullock">Sandra Bullock</a> and <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/nicole-kidman">Nicole Kidman</a> will reprise their roles as the Owens sisters. But will it happen?</p>

Since the second movie will probably focus on <strong>the daughters of Sally</strong>, who were introduced to us in the first title, it’s quite probable that <strong>the stars will return in supporting roles.</strong> Kidman spoke on the topic, but was reluctant to reveal any plot points:</p>



<p><em>“Yes I will be in it. And Sandy will be in it. And that’s that,”</em> she told People. <em>“There’s a lot more to tell, which is why we go, ‘OK, this is kind of interesting now to be able to do this.’ [We] found a way in.”</em></p>



<p>A potential release date for the sequel <strong>has not been announced yet</strong>, but one potential obstacle to it hitting theaters soon could be their schedules. While Sandra Bullock has only one movie on the horizon, Nicole Kidman is currently committed to <strong>nine projects</strong>, spanning both film and television.</p>

<p><strong>Rachel Sennott</strong> is known for her work in <strong>comedies</strong> such as <strong>“Bottoms,</strong>” which she co-wrote and starred in alongside <strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/ayo-edebiri">Ayo Edebiri</a>,</strong> <strong>“Shiva Baby”</strong> and<strong> “Bodies Bodies Bodies.”</strong> And the star’s latest film, <strong>“I Used To Be Funny,”</strong> a dramedy, comes to further prove that she is one to watch.</p>



<p>“I Used To Be Funny” was written and directed by <strong>Ally Pankiw,</strong> in her directorial debut. The <strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/drama">drama</a></strong>-comedy premiered at the <strong>2023 South by Southwest festival</strong>, as well as having its Canadian premier at the<strong> 2023 Inside Out Film and Video Festival</strong>, where it won the<strong> Audience Award</strong> for best narrative feature film.</p>



<p>The <strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies">movie</a></strong> stars Sennott as Sam, a stand-up comedian living in Toronto who is struggling with d<strong>epression that has impacted her career</strong> after Brooke (Olga Petsa), a young girl for whom she previously served as a nanny, goes missing.</p>



<h2>When and where to watch ‘I Used To Be Funny’ online</h2>



<p>Netflix will add the movie to its catalog on September 5th, 2024. The movie is set to arrive on Netflix shortly after its limited release in select theaters and on VOD. For now the film is available to rent or buy on <strong>Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, Youtube, Apple</strong> and <strong>more.</strong></p>



<p>According to What’s New on Netflix, it’s anticipated that the movie will only be available on <strong>Netflix in the United States</strong>, as Utopia is the sole distributor. However, with multiple international distributors involved, it’s possible that other regions may receive the movie at a later date.</p>
