“Nosferatu” used to be an iconic silent <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/horror">horror</a> film that had become a cult classic. However, this year it will have a new look, all thanks to Robert Eggers (The Northman and The Witch), who will direct the remake.



The first teaser has already been shared and the hype is quite high, as <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/bill-skarsgard">Bill Skarsgård</a> will once again embody a villain: the mythical vampire Nosferatu, who will have a somewhat different appearance and attitude.



The Gothic tale will hit the big screen on December 25th this year and it seems the filming has taken place in some grand landscapes, filled with crosses, small mountains and incredible castles.



<h2>Where was the remake of Nosferatu shot?</h2>



Nosferatu is not only one of the most anticipated titles of 2024, but it has been a special project for director <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies/how-to-watch-robert-eggers-movies-online-the-northman-the-witch-and-more">Robert Eggers</a>, who had planned to make it his second film but ended up being his fourth.



The remake was mainly shot in the Czech Republic, in Prague and Romania between February and May 2023. Production took place at Barrandov Studios and in other incredible locations, which have some great gothic landscapes.



Part of the filming took place in the historic town of Rožmitál pod Tremšín and at Rožmitál Castle, a 13th-century decaying structure that could serve as the home of Count Orlok and for other similar scenes.

Starve Acre is the new horror film starring <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/matt-smith">Matt Smith</a> (House of the Dragon) and Morfydd Clark (LOTR: The Rings of Power), which will finally be available in theaters very soon. DreamWorks Animation, the company behind the iconic franchise, has confirmed that Shrek 5 is in development, after 12 years since the last <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies">movie</a>‘s release, with its original cast returning.



Eddie Murphy, who voiced and brought to life Donkey in the <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/comedy">comedy</a>, confirmed his involvement in recent days by discussing the project and also announcing that his character will have a cinematic spin-off.



So far, not much is known about the new installment, but it’s been revealed that Michael McCullers, Christopher Meledandri and William Steig are the ones in charge of the script for the dramedy.



<h2>When will Shrek 5 be released?</h2>

Speaking to a crowd at ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024, Serkis gave an update on the film. While he admitted that he “basically” knows “nothing about the movie,” he revealed that he found out that they are “probably likely to be starting filming early next year.”



The reason for the production delay, apparently, is that Reeves hasn’t finished working on the script. Reeves is penning the project alongside Mattson Tomlin, who also worked on the first movie (although he wasn’t credited). Writing was delayed, according to ScreenRant, due to the 2023 WGA strike, which lasted 148 days.

“I know that Matt [Reeves] is working really hard on the script,” Serkis said, before adding: “Matt Reeves being Matt Reeves, the extraordinary filmmaker that he is, I can only assume that it’s going to be another brilliant script, because I thought what he did with that first film was pretty amazing.”

Robert Eggers, the director, has been absolutely smart and, recognizing all the buzz that Andy Muschietti caused by keeping the actor’s look as Pennywise under wraps for as long as possible, seems to be following the same path.&nbsp;



The difference between the two is that, by the time the first trailer for “It” was released, Skarsgård’s look as Pennywise had already been disclosed. Focus Features has already released the “Nosferatu” trailer, but we still don’t know what the new Count Orlok looks like in full face. However, as it is an adaptation of the 1922 title of the same name, we certainly know what his characteristics will be like.

When we think of Dracula, we often picture the charismatic and aristocratic vampire popularized by Bela Lugosi in Tod Browning’s famous film. Nosferatu, however, is far from that. Instead, Count Orlok has a distinctive, rat-like appearance with elongated fingers and ears, portraying a more grotesque and monstrous figure compared to the suave Count Dracula.



Furthermore, “Nosferatu” focuses more on the diabolical relationship between Count Orlok and Ellen Hutter, the wife of his estate agent. In contrast, “Dracula” and its identical adaptations often center on the conflict between the vampire, Jonathan Harker (the estate agent), and Van Helsing.

Pine’s comments are similar to what Paramount CEO Brian Collins said to Variety in July 2023. “We’ve got to figure out a way to make it for less,” he told the publication. The studio was also working on a spin-off series, which was announced in 2022, but it was canceled in May 2024.



Even though the outlook doesn’t seem promising, we know for certain that Pine would return. Back in 2023, he told GamesRadar+: “I’ve heard some rumors about it, but I don’t know anything yet. I feel pretty confident that it may happen. [I’d] absolutely [return].”

First, it’s important to know that this film was intended to be a central part of the Dark Universe, Universal’s franchise aimed at reviving the stories of their iconic monsters from the 1930s.&nbsp;



The goal was to shed light on a different side of these creatures, as “Dracula Untold” creates an origin story for the title character rather than using the storyline of Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel. However, the flick was not as successful as producers had hoped.&nbsp;



Although it made some money at the box office, grossing $217.1 million against a budget of $70–100 million, it was harshly criticized. Such a negative reception led the team behind the movie to cancel plans for any sequels.&nbsp;



When the next film in the universe, “The Mummy” with <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/tom-cruise">Tom Cruise</a>, performed just as poorly, Universal announced in 2019 that the Dark Universe was canceled and they would return to stand-alone features. Therefore, a “Dracula Untold” sequel is not currently planned. However, with the recent resurgence of interest in the production, it is possible that Universal might reconsider.
