June Squibb is ready to star in a new action-revenge thriller, which has been written and directed by Josh Margolin. The actress will bring Thelma to life, a grandmother who is deceived by a phone scammer.
The cast will not only be led by the star, who is also known for other popular titles, but will also feature actors such as Fred Hechinger (The Pale Blue Eye), Richard Roundtree (Speed Racer) and Clark Gregg (The Avengers).
The movie will debut on the big screen next month and has received a PG-13 rating, which means it may contain scenes with strong language, nudity and drug or alcohol use. Check out when it arrives in theaters…
When will ‘Thelma’ be released?
“Thelma“, the upcoming grandma action-revenge thriller that will be led by the great June Squibb (About Schmidt and Nebraska), will hit the big screen on June 21 of this year. So, just a few days left for its big debut in theaters.
The story follows Thelma Post, a 93-year-old grandmother who is deceived by a phone scammer posing as her grandson and embarks on a treacherous quest throughout the city to reclaim what was taken from her.
The movie portrays Richard Roundtree‘s last film role before his passing in 2023. The star was 81 years old and died at his home in Los Angeles due to pancreatic cancer. It is expected that there will be a dedication in his honor.
Josh Margolin, who was in charge of writing and editing the script, made his directorial debut thanks to this production. Previously, he had worked as a writer on multiple series, such as “My Boyfriend Is a Robot”.
