A classic movie from the 2000’s is ‘The Devil Wears Prada,’ starring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep. Based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger, the movie is set in the fashion industry and until this day, it remains as one of the best films about that world.
As Weisberger worked as an assistant for Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and the novel was based on her experiences, it is believed that the character of Miranda Priestly, played by Streep, is also based on Wintour. However, this hasn’t been confirmed. Apart from taking a critical look at New York’s elite and the fashion industry, the film’s heart lies in the story of Andy.
