What is Eddington about?
The details of the plot are still being kept under wraps, but Variety revealed a small introduction to what the psychological horror drama will be about, which features a script crafted by Aster, who will produce alongside Lars Knudsen.
The western will follow a sheriff with great aspirations who, along with his wife, arrives in a small town in New Mexico. Coincidentally, the couple becomes stranded without gasoline on the road, and although they are initially welcomed, the situation turns into a nightmare as night falls.
According to The Playlist, the director confessed that the movie will be set during the pandemic and has been categorized as a “Film noir ensemble western dark comedy“. It is also said to take place in a fictional mining town in Arizona.
During a press conference for “Beau is Afraid”, the director spoke about what to expect from his next project and said, “Although it’s kind of… I don’t know if you’d call it a revisionist western, it’s contemporary; one foot is in the western and the other is even more in the film noir genre“.
