<p>The western will follow a sheriff with great aspirations who, along with his wife, arrives in a small town in New Mexico. Coincidentally, the couple becomes stranded without gasoline on the road, and although they are initially welcomed, the situation turns into a nightmare as night falls.</p>





<p>According to The Playlist, the director confessed that the movie will be set during the pandemic and has been categorized as a <em>“<strong>Film noir ensemble western dark comedy</strong>“.</em> It is also said to take place in a fictional mining town in Arizona.</p>



<p>During a press conference for “Beau is Afraid”, the director spoke about what to expect from his next project and said, <em>“Although it’s kind of… I don’t know if you’d call it a revisionist western, it’s contemporary; one foot is in the western and the other is even more in the film noir genre</em>“.</p>

While she was a strong contender, thanks to her <strong>BAFTA, <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/sag-awards">SAG</a> </strong>and<strong> <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/golden-globes">Golden Globes</a></strong> wins, <strong>Lily Gladstone </strong>was also a frontrunner and the race was very close.</p>

<p>In the acting branch, there weren’t many surprises, with all the favorites taking their statuettes:<strong> Da’Vine Joy Randolph </strong>(The Holdovers) for Best Supporting Actress,<strong> Robert Downey Jr. </strong>in Best Supporting Actor, and <strong>Cillian Murphy </strong>as Best Actor, both for<strong><em> </em>Oppenheimer. </strong></p>

<p>The drama, produced by Focus Features, is set to be released sometime in 2025. The exact date has not been revealed, but it is expected that the rest of the cast and the release date will be confirmed in the coming months.</p>

<p>Thanks to the success of the <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies">movie</a>, a sequel has been confirmed. On January 9, 2024, the actress revealed to Variety that the new installment will start filming soon and that the film is <em>“a wonder. She’s a wonder. So yeah, we’ll see. It’s a work in progress</em>“.</p>







<p>Although the plot is still under wraps, it will be <strong>Craig Gillespie</strong> who directs the second part, with <strong>Tony McNamara</strong> developing the screenplay. So far, Emma is the only one confirmed for the cast, but it is estimated that the main actors, like <strong>Joel Fry</strong>, will also be returning.</p>

<p><strong>A24</strong> will produce the drama, which will have its premiere on the big screen. Filming has already begun, and most of the scenes will be shot in Albuquerque, New Mexico.</p>

<h2>Is ‘Poor Things’ available on streaming?</h2>



<p><strong>Poor Things will arrive on digital on Feb. 27th</strong>, meaning that it will be available to buy on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Vudu, Youtube and more.
