Apart from starring in Yorgos Latimos' "Poor Things," Emma Stone also appeared in one of the most acclaimed series of last year. And, now, the show is also one of the most watched on Hulu.

Emma Stone is receiving flowers for her role in Yorgos Lathimos’ film “Poor Things,” which is one of the favorites during the 2024 awards season. Stone has already won a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice, and she’s poised to compete for an Oscar. However, the star is also being praised for her most recent work in the series “The Curse.”

According to FlixPatrol, a specialized website which collects viewership data of streaming services, the series is also the third most-watched on Hulu in the US, as it is available on the platform with the Showtime add-on. You can also watch it on Paramount+ with Showtime, and Paramount+ add-on on Prime Video.

The series is only behind the series “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” which is in first place of the most-streamed list, and “Family Guy,” which is second. This satirical black comedy thriller was created and written by Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie, who also appear on the show.

What is ‘The Curse’ about?

The series follows a newlywed couple, Whitney and Asher (Stone and Fielder), who are focused on bringing their vision for eco-conscious housing to the small community Española, while also trying to conceive a baby.

However, their relationship will be put to test after an alleged curse amid the filming of their controversial reality TV show. They will be caught themselves in a mysterious web of ethical and moral gray zones.

‘The Curse’ received positive critics

The series has been praised by critics, and it has a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes with 66 reviews. However, the finale, which aired on Jan. 12th, was received with mixed reviews, with some criticizing the ending.

Stone was also nominated for a Golden Globe for this role, but lost against Sarah Snook (Succession). In an interview with Variety, Safdie said that a second season isn’t completely off the table, but “it’s definitely too premature to put them out into the world.” For now, the series is one of the most successful of the past year.
