Season 2 of House of the Dragon: Cast, plot and all the details

The series was one of the few productions that didn’t shut down during Hollywood’s WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. As the scripts were finished before the strikes and the majority of the cast consisted of UK actors working under local contract, they were able to go into production as scheduled.

Apart from the regular cast, which includes Smitt, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, and Rhys Ifans, there are new members confirmed for Season 2. Gayle Rankin, Simon Russell Beale, Freddie Fox, and Abubakar Salim joined the series as Alys Rivers, Ser Simon Strong, Ser Gwayne Hightower and Alyn of Hull, respectively.

House of the Dragon, which serves as a prequel for Games of Thrones, is based on the book by George R. R. Martin. As we watched in the season’s finale, Rhaenyra Targaryen (D’Arcy) and Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) are on the brink of war.

“There is no war more hateful to the gods, than a war between kin. And no war so bloody as a war between dragons, Rhaenys (Eve Best) says in the first and only, so far, teaser trailer for Season 2.
