Directed by Kenny Ortega, “Descendants” is one of the most beloved musical trilogies of Disney Channel. The movies, starring Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, among others, follow the children of classic Disney characters such as Cinderella, Mulan and more. And the saga will continue with a fourth installment, “The Rise of Red.”

This time the story will follow Red, who is the daughter of the Queen of Hearts and Chloe, the daughter of Cinderella and Prince Charming. They are polar opposites, but they will have to work together after the Queen of Hearts stages a coup to take over Auradon. To save the kingdom, they will travel back in time.

Ortega won’t be back in the director’s chair as the movie will be helmed by Jennifer Phang (Advantageous, Half-Life). The script, meanwhile, was written by Dan Frey and Russell Sommer. Here’s when this spin-off is coming to Disney+.
