What are James McAvoy’s next movies?

Speak No Evil – Sept 13th

If most cinemagoers considered “Split” to be James McAvoy’s most unsettling film, they’ll have to brace themselves for this. The remake of “Speak No Evil” is set to be released in just a couple months and promises a disturbing experience.

The plot revolves around a Danish family who befriends a Dutch family while on vacation in Tuscany. They get along so well that the latter proposes a group getaway at their rural home. Despite feeling uneasy about living with strangers, the Danes agree, completely unaware of the horror that lies ahead.

Based on the hit production of the same name from two years ago, this remake has faced disagreements over its creation. Nevertheless, the return of James McAvoy to the horror genre has been eagerly awaited since his appearance in “It: Chapter Two”, so the movie is projected to be a box-office success.

Turn Up the Sun! – TBA

According to IMDb, “Turn Up The Sun” began filming in the UK five months ago and is already in post-production. Hopefully, we can expect a release date or a teaser of the thriller before midyear.

The movie tells the story of two couples who book a stay in the same countryside mansion. As they live together, they begin to experience extremely strange events.

Jamie Adams directed the film, with James McAvoy chosen as the lead and supported by a cast including Aisling Franciosi, Lucas Bravo, Leila Farzad, and Almudena Amor.

Control – TBA

As is well known, James McAvoy enjoys taking on uncommon cinematic challenges. At present, he’s immersed in the filming of one of the most daring projects of his career: “Control”, the adaptation of the famous Two-Up’s feature-length audio movie “Shipworm”.

The narrative crafted by Zach Akers and Skip Bronkie follows the life of Wallace Conway, a doctor who one day awakens to the incessant sound of a voice in his head. Gradually, the voice becomes increasingly insistent, delivering ominous threats if ignored.

There’s not much information out yet about the film, but the few details we have are incredibly promising. Not only will Julianne Moore co-star, but also Robert Schwentke, known for his direction in “Red”, will bring vast experience in the action genre to the project.
