Anya Taylor-Joy has been establishing herself for years as one of the most important rising stars in Hollywood, backed by her filmography, which is filled with successes and some of the most significant productions.

Her big breakthrough came with the 2020 series The Queen’s Gambit, where she portrayed Beth Harmon. Since then, she has not only managed to be in multiple top-tier projects but has also earned the status of an icon.

One of her recent cameos was in Dune: Part Two, where she portrayed Paul Atreides’ sister. Soon, she will be leading the Mad Max prequel and several other films. Check out where she will appear next…

What are Anya Taylor-Joy’s next projects?

Laughter in the Dark

Laughter in the Dark” is a suspense drama to be directed by Scott Frank, who also co-adapted the screenplay based on a novel written by Vladimir Nabokov, the author of Lolita.

The story follows a young aspiring actress who conspires against a middle-aged married art critic to take his money. Anya Taylor-Joy will bring the main character to life and so far, she is the only one confirmed for the cast.

This won’t be the first time the filmmaker and the young star collaborate, as they previously worked together on the Netflix series “The Queen’s Gambit”, which won 11 Primetime Emmy Awards.

Filming has not yet begun, and the project is still in the pre-production stage, so it has not been confirmed when it might hit the big screen or if it will debut directly on streaming.

Sacrifice

Sacrifice” is Anya’s next big project, which will bring her together with a long list of top-level stars who are currently trending and continuing to add successes to their filmographies…

Among the most prominent are Chris Evans, Salma Hayek and Brendan Fraser, whose roles are still a mystery. Directing and co-writing the story will be Romain Gavras, the French filmmaker and former partner of Dua Lipa.

Will Arbery worked closely with the director on the script for the upcoming dramatic film, which if all goes well and development begins, could arrive sometime in 2025. Filming will take place from September 2024.

The story of the satirical thriller depicts how a star-studded charity event turns into chaos when a radical group infiltrates it in search of a mystical artifact related to an ancient prophecy.

How to Kill Your Family

New project for Anya on the horizon! The iconic actress will star in Netflix‘s upcoming thriller, a series adaptation of “How to Kill Your Family“. The plot is based on the novel written by Bella Mackie in 2021.

The story follows Grace Bernard, who, upon discovering that her estranged millionaire father has rejected her dying mother’s pleas for help, vows to take revenge and sets out to kill every member of her family.

The Gorge | 2025 on Apple TV+

The Gorge” will bring together Taylor-Joy with Miles Teller and a stellar cast, which includes names like Sigourney Weaver and Samantha Coughlan. The film is currently in post-production, but it’s still unknown when it will hit the screen.

The story follows two very dangerous young individuals who, despite the corrupt and deadly world they inhabit, find a soulmate in each other. As its plot suggests, it will be packed with romance, terror and action.

Scott Derrickson directed the drama from a screenplay written by Zach Dean. In addition to the main figures, William Houston, Adam Scott-Rowley, Greta Hansen, Alessandro Garcia and Julianna Kurokawa make up the cast.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who are best friends and bandmates of Nine Inch Nails, gave an interview to GQ and confirmed that they will be in charge of creating the soundtrack for the movie.
