“Furiosa” is the new film from the Mad Max universe that will bring together Anya Taylor-Joy (The Menu) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) on the big screen to star in this brutal and chaotic prequel to the saga.
George Miller is back as director and co-writer, alongside Nick Lathouris. The acclaimed filmmaker has been responsible for all installments of the franchise, including the reboot with Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.
This time, the story follows the young Furiosa, who, in the aftermath of the world’s collapse, is taken from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a large horde of motorcyclists led by the warlord Dementus.
How much money did the cast of Furiosa earn?
“Furiosa” is the upcoming science fiction film set to hit screens on May 24th of this year, aiming to establish itself as one of the big hits of 2024, especially due to its enormous and incredible budget.
According to Martial Arts Action Cinema, the drama is “the biggest movie ever filmed” in New South Wales, providing 850 jobs on the set and significant salaries for the main actors.
Variety and Showbiz Galore reported that Anya Taylor-Joy is one of the highest-paid cast members, receiving a paycheck of $1.8 million. Meanwhile, her co-star, Chris Hemsworth, is said to have received a higher salary.
The site stated that his payment was around $20 million, significantly higher than the actress who portrayed Furiosa. However, this has not been confirmed, and it was estimated that he actually earned $2 million for playing the villain.
