It seems the drama between the cast of It Ends with Us and its director, Justin Baldoni, is far from over. Apparently, the filmmaker, who also plays Ryle, has hired a veteran crisis public relations expert.
The news broke just in time to further fuel the chaos, as theories about a supposed feud between him and Blake Lively are gaining traction. It appears the stars had intense arguments on set.
None of the lead actors, like Brandon Sklenar and Isabela Ferrer, have spoken about the director, and whenever they’re asked about him, they quickly change the subject, just as Colleen Hoover and Jenny Slate have done.
Why Justin Baldoni hired a PR crisis manager?
Yesterday, it was revealed that Justin Baldoni has hired Melissa Nathan, who represented Johnny Depp during the Amber Heard trial, as his crisis PR manager following the release of “It Ends with Us”.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that the hiring of The Agency Group, the firm founded by the professional, came at a time when the actor and director has been the target of multiple negative headlines.
Many of these accused him of making Blake Lively feel quite uncomfortable on the set of the Colleen Hoover adaptation. The chaos began after fans pointed out that he hasn’t been seen at any press events.
There are no group photos or pictures of the lead actors with Baldoni, and they haven’t appeared together at the New York premiere that took place on August 6th. Since then, everyone has been rather evasive in their responses.
According to some sources obtained by THR, there was a major fallout between Justin and Blake during the production phase due to creative differences, as both suggested two different cuts of the movie.
The actress reportedly preferred the cut made by editor Shane Reid, who also worked on “Deadpool & Wolverine”. It is not yet known which cut was chosen, but it has been attributed to Oona Flaherty and Robb Sullivan.
