¡Se celebraron los Premios Emmy 2022! Para la edición 74º de los Primetime Emmy Awards, la Academia de Artes y Ciencias de la Televisión decidió cambiar el día de su ceremonia, ya que anteriormente se llevaba a cabo los domingos. Las estrellas de la televisión desfilaron por la alfombra roja del Microsoft Theatre de Los Ángeles, una locación que recibirá al público normalmente después de ediciones limitadas por la pandemia del Covid-19.
Al igual que el teatro elegido, la producción mantiene la tradición de otras galas de tener importantes nombres para la presentación de cada una de las categorías. Este año fueron parte los siguientes: Will Arnett, Ángela Bassett, Vanessa Bayer, Kelly Clarkson, Ariana DeBose, Taye Diggs, Hannah Einbinder, Selena Gomez, Mariska Hargitay, Jimmy Kimmel, Diego Luna, Cristobal Meloni, Seth Meyers, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Jean Smart, Kerry Washington y Natalia Zea.
Cedric the Entertainer fue seleccionado para ser el host del evento el año pasado, pero en esta ocasión el anfitrión fue Kenan Thompson. El actor es miembro del reparto más antiguo de Saturday Night Live que ha sido nominado en seis ocasiones por su trabajo en el histórico programa y por su sitcom, Kenan. En 2018 se llevó la estatuilla por Mejor música original y letra por la canción "Come Back, Barack" de SNL.
El listado con todas las nominaciones de la noche se dio a conocer en julio de este año. Recordemos que las categorías están divididas en drama, comedia y variedades de televisión. Better Call Saul, Euphoria, Ozark, Severance, El juego del calamar, Stranger Things, Succession y Yellowjackets compitieron por el premio mayor en drama.
