According to Anime Corner, “Alien Stage” has officially been greenlit for an anime series, with the announcement made during the franchise’s panel at Anime Expo 2026 before being confirmed through its official social media channels. While production is underway, the creators have not yet revealed a release window, animation studio, staff, or voice cast.

What We Know About the ‘Alien Stage’ Anime So Far

The upcoming adaptation will mark the first full anime series based on “Alien Stage,” expanding a universe that has so far been told through animated music videos, side comics, artwork, and supplementary lore. Although the franchise has built an extensive narrative across multiple formats, the new project is expected to bring that story into a more traditional episodic structure for the first time.

Created by South Korean artists VIVINOS and QMENG and produced by Studio Lico, “Alien Stage” debuted on YouTube in September 2022. Set in a dystopian future where aliens have colonized Earth and treat humans as pets, the story follows young contestants forced into a deadly televised singing competition where defeat means execution. Its blend of science fiction, psychological drama, and K-pop-inspired musical performances quickly distinguished it from conventional web animation.

Rather than relying on standard episodes, the creators developed the narrative through a sequence of animated songs known as “Rounds,” accompanied by comics, official artwork, character profiles, and other story material released over time. Central characters including Mizi, Sua, Ivan, and Till gradually became fan favorites as viewers pieced together the larger mythology from these interconnected releases.

The unconventional storytelling approach helped transform “Alien Stage” into one of YouTube’s most recognizable independent animation successes, often mentioned alongside projects such as “The Amazing Digital Circus” and “Hazbin Hotel.” Its popularity has also fueled an expanding multimedia franchise that includes official art books, collectible merchandise, convention appearances, and licensed figures, demonstrating how a digital-first animated project evolved into a global fandom.

For now, fans will have to wait for more information about the anime’s production, including its studio, creative staff, release schedule, and casting. But the confirmation of a full series represents the franchise’s biggest expansion since its debut on YouTube nearly four years ago.
