Uglies” is the new most-watched movie on Netflix worldwide and in the US, taking us on a nostalgic journey as it closely resembles the futuristic romantic dramas of the 2010s, such as “The Hunger Games” and “Divergent”.

The dramatic story is set in a dystopian future where, upon turning 16, all teenagers must undergo cosmetic surgery to become “beautiful”, but some refuse, escaping and becoming rebels.

Joey King (The Kissing Booth, A Family Affair and Bullet Train) stars as the protagonist Tally Youngblood, who lives in a society where beauty is universally coveted and life is based on conformity and superficial appearance.
