<p><strong>Donald Glover </strong>and <strong>Maya Erskine</strong> star in the new <strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/category/series">series</a></strong> <strong>“Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” </strong>which is inspired by the 2005 film starring <strong>Brad Pitt </strong>and <strong>Angelina Jolie. </strong>The show, which is available to stream on <strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/prime-video">Prime Video</a></strong>, has received positive reviews and it has also become a hit for the platform.</p>



<p>According to FlixPatrol, the eight-part series is currently (as Feb. 4th) the number 1 series on the platform both worldwide and in the US. The show was created by Glover and <strong>Francesca Sloane,</strong> who also was the producer of “Atlanta.”</p>

However, if you have watched the film, you still are up to many surprises as the series doesn’t follow the same storyline.</p>



<h2>What is ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ about?</h2>



<p>The series stars Glover and Erskine as two agents and strangers who sign their lives over to a mysterious organization and pose as a married couple. Actually, the show has the same premise as the <strong>1996 series of the same name</strong>, but, according to Slash Film, no one from the new show has spoken publicly about it (so, it probably just a coincidence).</p>



<p>In an interview with Deadline, Sloane said that they wanted to change the premise with the question:<em> “What would a series feel like if our heroes weren’t the two most beautiful people on the planet, but instead, <strong>were two lonely people, two underdogs, wanting more from life than what they currently had?</strong> What if our John and Jane could be anyone, could be you and me?”</em></p>

<p>One of the critics who have praised the most of the new series is the casting and the chemistry between Glover and Erskine, who have been friends since high school. Originally, the role of Jane was for <strong>Phoebe Waller-Bridge</strong>, who left the project amicably due to creative differences.</p>

<h2>The real story that inspired ‘The Vow’</h2>



<p>“The Vow” is loosely based on the true story of <strong>Kim and Krickitt Carpenter</strong>, who also wrote a book about their relationship. They married in September 1993, and two months later they were involved in a serious <strong>car accident on Thanksgiving</strong>.</p>



<p>As depicted by the movie, Krickitt suffered a brain trauma and when she woke up 21 days later, she didn’t remember her husband or their marriage. While Kim tried to help her recover her memory, nothing worked and he decided to court her again. Two years and countless dates later, the <strong>couple remarried.</strong></p>

<p>When promoting the film back in 2012, Tatum said to SFG that <em>“Leo’s a victim as well, even though he didn’t go through the windshield. <strong>He has to live with all those beautiful moments that are now gone</strong>, that he essentially has to erase in his mind.”</em></p>



<p>While the film ends up on a positive note, <strong>Carpenter’s story ended up differently</strong>. In 2018, the couple announced that they were divorcing after Kim had an affair. Krickett told <strong>“Inside Edition” </strong>at the time that the affair “was shocking and surprising.”</p>

That’s right, <strong>The Wrestler</strong> has positioned itself as the ninth most-watched movie.</p>



<p>The classic <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/drama">drama</a> debuted on the big screen in 2008 and has since become an indispensable title in <strong>Mickey Rourke</strong>‘s acting career and <strong>Marisa Tomei</strong>‘s established filmography. <p>While it didn’t make a splash at the box office, the film was highly successful among critics, receiving positive reviews. It currently holds a <strong>94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes</strong>, calling it a smart, funny and entertaining film.</p>



<h2>Holofcener was inspired by her own fears</h2>



<p>In an interview with The New York Times, Holofcener explained that she wrote the script inspired by the thought of <em>“What a nightmare this situation would be, if somebody that close to me revealed to someone else that they didn’t like my work, or even just one of my movies.”</em></p>

<p>Mescal filmed this movie at the same time as<strong> “Aftersun,” </strong>the drama for which he got his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor.
