Sometimes, all we need to feel good is a comedy movie starring John Cena, complete with his signature action style. This is evident in the immense viewership that “Jackpot!” has garnered since its release on August 15, quickly becoming the most-watched film on Prime Video in the United States, according to FlixPatrol.

Since beginning his acting career, John Cena has consistently attracted a large audience, particularly on streaming platforms where he has found his greatest popularity. Whether playing supporting roles, as in “Die Hart 2: Die Harter,” or leading films like “Freelance,” Cena often finds himself at the top of the rankings.

In “Jackpot!,” he returns in a lottery-themed action-comedy, supported by a perfectly matched cast, delivering a film filled with laughs and impressive stunt sequences.

‘Jackpot’ occupies the Top 1 on Prime Video in the United States

Everything John Cena touches seems to turn to gold, and “Jackpot!” is no exception. Just hours after its release, the film has already claimed the No. 1 spot on Prime Video in the United States.

The movie effortlessly surpassed recent hits like “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” and “Passengers,” both of which had been trending in the past weeks. The only film that might challenge its top spot is “Night Swim,” Blumhouse’s first theatrical release of 2024 that recently arrived at the small screen.

In “Jackpot!,” Katie, a recent transplant to LA, accidentally wins the lottery—a stroke of luck that quickly turns dangerous. In a near-future, economically struggling California, it’s legal to kill the lottery winner before sundown to claim the prize. To survive, Katie must team up with Noel, an amateur jackpot protector, in hopes of securing her multi-billion dollar fortune by sunset.

John Cena and Awkwafina lead the cast, playing Noel and Katie, respectively, with strong support from Simu Liu, Seann William Scott, Marian Green, and David Conk.

Directed by Paul Feig, known for “Bridesmaids,” “The Heat,” and “Spy,” “Jackpot!” is filled with laughs and action. If you’re looking for a movie to make you giggle, this one should be at the top of your list!
