While Brad Pitt‘s filmography is iconic from start to finish, one of his most memorable titles remains “World War Z,” which is currently trending again on Paramount+ in the United States.

Directed by Marc Forster, known for films like “Monster’s Ball” and “Christopher Robin,” the horror flick is inspired by Max Brooks’ 2006 novel of the same name.

Despite its expensive budget ranging from $190 million to $269 million, it was a significant box office success, grossing $540.5 million. So far, it is Pitt’s most successful film.

Interestingly, it’s competing with some of the “Paw Patrol” beloved titles, which attract a significant portion of the platform’s viewership (kids). Currently, the horror picture is also locked in a tight competition with “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” to climb higher in the rankings.

Its plot revolves around Gerry Lane, a former United Nations analyst specializing in high-risk zones, who must lead a mission to uncover the origin and potential cure for an epidemic turning humans into zombies.

Brad Pitt leads a talented cast that includes Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Ludi Boeken, and David Morse, among others.

Reflecting on his role in the film, Pitt once commented, “This whole thing started because I just wanted to do a film that my boys could see before they turned 18 – one that they would like, anyways. And they love a zombie.”
