Great movies are rarely left as standalone installments, especially in the horror genre. This is evident in “Pet Sematary: Bloodlines,” which is currently trending worldwide on Paramount+ despite its release in October 2023.
The film is based on one of Stephen King‘s most beloved books and serves as a prequel to the three-part film series inspired by such novel.
Directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer, this picture marks her feature directorial debut, though she is known for her work in popular series such as “Sierra Burgess Is a Loser.”
‘Pet Sematary: Bloodlines’ trends again on Paramount+ worldwide
Stephen King has an impressive ability to turn everything he touches to gold. Thus, it’s no surprise to see “Pet Sematary: Bloodlines” re-entering the Top 10 on Paramount+.
The title has impressively dethroned one of the most-watched “Paw Patrol” movies in the catalog and is poised to climb further in the rankings if it surpasses Colin Farrell’s “London Boulevard” in viewership.
Set in 1969, fifty years before the events of the original film, the story revolves around young Jud Crandall, who discovers a nearby Native American burial ground where the dead can be resurrected, unaware of the terrifying consequences that will forever alter his life.
The cast includes Jackson White, Natalie Alyn Lind, Forrest Goodluck, Isabella Star LaBlanc, and Henry Thomas. Despite polarizing opinions, “Pet Sematary: Bloodlines” achieved considerable success, prompting Beer to consider developing additional sequels to expand the franchise—an idea that Paramount+ will likely approve.
